Susanne Schmidt grew up in Germany and fell in love with English while reading Sabriel and the Earthsea Chronicles. She studied in Spain and the US, and eventually earned a B.A. in Journalism from Saint Louis University.
She wrote her first poems in fourth grade and has been hooked on writing ever since. Currently, she is working on a middle grade horror series set inspired by German folklore, and a dark fantasy trilogy involving a shipwrecked vampire (not the glittery kind).
When she isn't staring down a blank screen, Susanne is learning to garden, takes care of two spoiled guinea pigs, and watches too much Netflix with her husband.
