David Dayton retired in 2019 from a 30-year patchwork career in academia and government. The common thread was always writing, editing, and teaching. He has since revived an earlier career as a poet and publisher. The first fruits are this second collection of poems, The Bus to San Simón, and a forthcoming novel, Wideman’s Gospel. His current writing project is a family history and memoir whose working title is Chaplain’s Kid.
