Mandrake Pan

AUTHOR, ARCANOLOGIST, & MAN-ABOUT-TOWN.

Mandrake Pan was born fully bearded on the back of a cabbage barrow on Christmas Day, 1855.

His parents, Cressida Potts & Pluto Pan, were the renowned music hall artistes Potts & Pan, introducing the young Mandrake to an exciting world of bright lights & larger than life characters.

However, the stage wasn't for him, & after a small stint as a toffee taster at Nanny Willoughby's Naughty Treats, he took a job as an ink runner for the now defunct Winchell's Guide to Ghosts & Goblins.

He quickly progressed, moving out of the ink room the following year until, by 1875, Mandrake decided to strike out on his own, founding the modest publication, Eldritch Monthly.

Since that day, the periodical has gone from strength to strength, soon establishing itself as London's foremost publication for the Strange & Unusual with especial interest in the investigations & adventures of Wilfred Woolfitt!
