Kawira Koome is a Kenyan writer and author of speculative fiction based on the outskirts of Nairobi. Her fiction and non-fiction have appeared in Brittle Paper and Kalahari Review, among other publications.
Muthomi, her debut novel, is the first in a series of resistance movement thrillers set in imagined African worlds. Her work explores themes of institutional power, surveillance, and resistance through a African dystopian narrative.
Koome's writing interrogates how surveillance state systems shape identity and agency, blending literary depth with genre storytelling.
