Karl G. Trautman is the editor of The New Populist Reader and the author of The Underdog in American Politics: The Democratic Party and Liberal Values. He was born in Wisconsin and has been fascinated by politics most of his life. He has been a policy analyst and newspaper columnist and is currently is an instructor of political science at Central Maine Community College.
