​​​​​I am a novelist, screenwriter  and traveler.  I am the author of three published novels: Black Plume:The Suppressed Memoirs of Edgar Allan Poe, Simon and Schuster; U.S.S.A. (Book of the Month Club selection, translated into several languages), and Vodoun, William Morrow.  I am also a produced screenwriter, with credits that include Copycat, the Warner Brothers thriller starring Sigourney Weaver and Holly Hunter.  I’m currently plotting my next novel, a mystery set in 1970s San Francisco. On my research visits to the San Francisco library, I stop by a glass case in Special Collections to pay my respects to Dashiell Hammett’s typewriter.
