I'm a filmmaker and photographer based in New York City. I've been a contributor to the New York Times since 2011, and my stories, pictures, short films, and audio pieces have been published worldwide.
At heart, I'm a storyteller. My previous professional experiences include guitar teacher, musician, interpreter, and producer/director of radio plays and short films. If my life can be lumped into a category, I’ve failed. Growing up, I lived on four continents.
My work speaks to those who reject labels, are fearless about starting from square one, and dedicate their lives to empowering and inspiring others to become storytellers.
