One could say I'm somewhat...vanilla. Hee, hee! So, a friend of mine recommended I watch the movie 365 Days. Notebook in hand, pen ready for notetaking, I watched it. (Yes, I'm quite certain I'm the ONLY person in the world who watched this movie with a notebook and pen! LOL!)


Peeking through spread fingers, I scribbled furiously, trying to capture the body mechanics and steam of the love scenes. Cheeks flushed, I reviewed my notes and went about my day.


Several days later, my mind flooded with characters and scenes (okay, it started with the steamy scenes first), and I was off and writing.


The more I wrote, the more Nicco and Destiny came to life; their flaws, their wounds, their desires, their love. And Someone Exactly Like Me took form.


I so hope you enjoy reading their love story.

Hi! I’m Debbie Cromack and I write contemporary novels that are romantic, sexy, and emotional with a lot of heart and worth-the-wait steam. I’ve been called the Master of Slow Burn, a title I happily accept.

I write realistic, flawed characters you’d want to get to know in real life. My heroes are virile and also broken. They have huge hearts, respect their women, and have a hidden romantic side. These men don't just fall in love, they fall and never look back. My heroines are often awkward, feisty, and embody everything the hero never knew he needed.

After spending 25+ years in corporate America, being the CEO of an event decorating company, and then an online business coach, I tried my hand at writing romance novels, publishing my debut novel at the age of 50, and have been writing ever since.

I live in an old farmhouse where I care for a dwarf bunny named Nutmeg, two Nigerian dwarf goats named Patches and Tiny, and lots of chickens. I like my book boyfriends how I like my cocoa: hot and yummy! With my knack for decorating, I tend to go all-out for each holiday. And I’m a total sucker for the Hallmark Channel…especially at Christmas.

You do that for me.”.Review: This was my first book by Debbie and it will not be my last! I already have her book Untouchable Zane ready to read very soon! This was a unique storyline which I really enjoyed..Destiny is a Romance Author who is stuck in a rut and looking to get her spark back..Nicco is an Italian actor known for his playboy reputation. He is looking to transition his career to the US..Destiny meets Nicco one night when she meets up with her friend who is a photographer. Nicco locks eyes on Destiny and knows he wants her. Destiny knows better though and tries to stear clear of Nicco, until they strike up a deal. These two become friends and I love how their frienship develops. I love their interactions and the Italian words he says to her. The experiences they share, the chemistry and the sexual tension these two have were palpable. The slow burn was delicious and perfect for these two as they really developed a relationship without the physical attraction taking over. Which I love! My heart broke for Nicco and all that he went through causing his walls to go up. Destiny was the perfect one to break through those walls. The pain of her past made me just want to give her a big hug. I loved the character growth each went through and of course the protectiveness and jealousy.😏 I loved Destiny's friendship with Candi and Nicco's relationship with Marco. The landscapes and food descriptions had me adding another location to my bucketlist. I also loved reading about my favorite restaurant and other places I know. This was such a sweet and swoony read. It sucked me in and I loved it!

    Destiny and Nicco have a very unexpected meet cute. Their attraction is immediate but Destiny knows Nicco, an up & coming actor/musician, is a player. She’s just had her heart broken and doesn’t need it to happen again. However, a friendship forms and they start to mean so much to each other. Will they cross that line or is neither willing to open their heart or minds to more?

    This is VERY slow burn. You really get to see them move from strangers to friends to best friends and beyond. They get to know each other in every way…they share their history, fears, dreams and hopes. You see them falling in love and it’s amazing to watch it all unfold. But their path isn’t without bumps including the same things they share….pasts come back, fears start to show and at points both believe any type of future is just a dream. This story is very romantic because of the slow burn and it had me swooning the entire time.

    I’m thoroughly enjoying The Hollywood/Celebrity romances from this author (if you haven’t read Zane then go grab it now)…..and I can’t wait to read more from her.

    I gave it 4 stars instead of five for a few reasons. One, I couldn’t quite follow the timeline at certain points. Two, is it realistic to have a man that’s been drinking quite a bit drive the ladies home from the club? Three, I felt that the author really put way too many details in the beginning of the book and almost no details in the final pages. Four, then we shift to an epilogue that leaves many of us wondering what we’re the details of their travel together, when/how did he propose, how long before she got pregnant, how do they know it’s a boy, what will they do once the baby comes, did he kick the nicotine habit for good, etc. etc. The author was too detailed in the front of the book and completely blowing off details at the end.
    Having said all the negative, I still want to read the rest of the series. This book is compelling and emotional and will feed your soul with the stirring love story of a regular woman “Destiny” romance author (who just happens to have well connected parents) and a man “Nicco” that is a movie star, songwriter, musician, and singer.

The characters have entertaining situations in California and Itay, with needed support from friends and family. The storyline has them tearing down the walls around their hearts from past relationship bombs. Letter burning was a favorite of mine. Plenty of drama, pushy women, surprises, twists - Ana, help from her father, fun activities and vivid locales. Loved their chemistry and the slow build steam. Terrific ending that fit just right.

    Nicco is an actor and singer from Italy here in America and trying to start things here. Destiny is a romance writer who is just in a blind spot. On Destiny's 30th birthday they meet, when her best friend puts them together for a photography shoot. Destiny has had a crush on him since she watched a movie he made. Now she is taking all of these sexy photos with him until the model actually makes it to the scene.

    When Nicco comes to the bar with Destiny and the rest of the crew he sees a way that they could help each other. If she would show him around Los Angeles while he looks for leads into Hollywood he could help her overcome her writer's block. They both agree to the terms and set off to help each other.

    They have 2 weeks together before he has to leave the country. What they find is an amazing connection. Nicco has been badly hurt in the past and vows he will never have another relationship. He won't ever kiss a woman on the lips. It's too personal. And Destiny was engaged once and her fiance left her for his good friend he grew up with.

    I loved everything about this book. The places they saw together. Just everything! Thank you Debbie Cromack for writing this story. Enjoy!

    I so enjoyed getting to know Debbie more. Her goats are so cute and I loved getting to see glimpses in to her life.

    This is book 1 in her Wounded Hearts series. It follows Destiny and Nicco. Nicco is a famous actor who is ridiculously good looking. Destiny is a romance writer who is struggling with some serious writer’s block. When Destiny’s friend Candi plays matchmaker at a photoshoot, Nicco and Destiny are thrown together in whirlwind of a romance.

    I really enjoyed this one. They both had issues and insecurities to work through together. But I loved how they each made the other person better and stronger and more secure in themselves. I also loved the Italy scenes as I felt as though I was on vacation!

    I recently read Someone to Watch Over Me and had to go back and read Book 1 in the Wounded Heart series to see how this all started. Niccolo definitely falls first in this slow burn romance. The book takes place partly around the Los Angeles area and then off to Italy which is a sweet treat. Good book to read at the beach!

    Someone Exactly Like Me is the first book in the Wounded Hearts series be Debbie Cromack. This is my first book by Ms. Cromack, and as I am always on the look out for new authors to add to my TBR list I happily snapped up a copy to explore.
    What I found was a sweet, enjoyable, slow-burn, contemporary romance with a bit of a friends-to-lover element, some angst, push-pull, heartache, chemistry, and drama. I connected with the characters right from the get-go, which made it so easy to invest in them and their whole story.
    I am happy that I stumbled on this book, and author- and I will certainly be keeping a look-out for more of her work in the future.

I liked the pace, getting to really know the characters daily life, the sexual tension, and it's an all around feel good read. The characters couldn't be more opposite of one another, however that's why I think they were so perfect together. This is my first time reading this author, and I can say she has herself a new reader. I like the way she pens her story that you become immersed into the characters world.
