About this ebook

She’ll risk anything to save the company her parents built. He’ll risk anything to save her. Someone will stop at nothing to make sure they both fail.

Chelsea Hamilton spent her life preparing to run the international clothing business her parents started, but she’s still caught off guard when she learns of her mother’s untimely death. Chelsea returns to New Hampshire, buries her mother, and prepares to take over the floundering business. When a stranger attempts to kill her, she realizes somebody doesn’t want her to inherit her legacy.

Private Investigator Dylan O’Donnell spends his time searching for lost teens. He doesn’t know what to think of the beautiful woman seeking his services. Hers isn’t the kind of case he’s accustomed to handling, and she isn’t the kind of client he quit his steady job to help, but something about the woman pulls at him. She’s in danger, and he can’t turn her away. But if he blows this very public case, his floundering business might not survive.

Together, they dig into her family's secrets. The closer they get to the truth, the closer they grow to one another. Can Chelsea save the legacy her parents fought to leave her? Can Dylan save Chelsea from the enemies determined to see her dead?

Wow! That’s the first word that comes to my mind when I think about this book. As I mentioned above, I haven’t read a lot of books by this author, but I am SO glad that I was chosen to be on her launch team because I really enjoyed reading this story. I also know that this book is part of a series; however, I read it as a standalone. The book starts with a major cliff-hanger moment (literally, Chelsea was pushed off a mountain) and the suspense continues to build from there. Both of the main characters (Dylan and Chelsea) were relatable and I loved their relationship with each other. One thing I really liked about both characters, was how real their faith was. How even in the toughest of times, with someone trying to kill them, they didn’t just rely on each other, they relied heavily on the Lord. One of my favorite parts was the moment when Dylan told Chelsea that the business wasn’t her parents legacy… she was. I also loved that even though Chelsea was a VERY rich young lady, she never acted snotty or like she was better then everyone else and she thought of others. The one negative thing about the story was that some of the plot was a bit predictable. I was able to guess who the “bad guy” was before the middle of the book; however, there were enough twist and turns to keep my attention until the end confirmed my suspicions – making the book hard to put down. Overall, I think this book is definitely a must read and I would give it 4 out of 5 stars ****. >>Special thanks to Robin Patchen for letting me read and review this book – all opinions are my own.

Wow! The author has done it again. I started this book late in the day and was unable to put it down to accomplish anything until I reached that last period. There is some of everything you love about suspense with a little romance in this third book of The Legacy series. It is a page-turner that had me guessing the guilt of most every person the author introduces. Chelsea Hamilton returns to New Hampshire after an extended time away, the sad occasion being the death of her mother. Now she is the only surviving member of her family and thus the largest shareholder in the struggling company her parents started. How can she possibly turn things around when it appears someone is trying to kill her? Accidents, murder, shootings, sabotage and missing documents keep you at the edge of your seat and demand you read on until you find explanations for all of your questions. This ARC was received through JDO Publishing. All comments and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

About the author

Aside from her family and her Savior, Robin Patchen has two loves—writing and traveling. If she could combine them, she’d spend a lot of time sitting in front of her laptop at sidewalk cafes and ski lodges and beachside burger joints. She’d visit every place in the entire world—twice, if possible—and craft stories and tell people about her Savior. Alas, time is too short and money is too scarce for Robin to traipse all over the globe, even if her husband and kids wanted to go with her. So she stays in Oklahoma, shares the Good News when she can, and writes to illustrate the unending grace of God through the power and magic of story.
