      I dedicate this book first to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has been my intercessor and the Holy Spirit has been my helper. They inspired me to write and publish this book. Secondly, I want to dedicate this book to my husband, Calvin who was very inspirational and kept me focused on completing the book.

      In addition to Calvin, my children, Brian and Kristen, were also instrumental in writing this book, and they often confirmed my transformation into the likeness of Jesus based on my actions. I continue daily striving to be the vessel, servant, and woman of God that I have been purposed to be on this earth.

      Vision

      As the Holy Spirit inspired me to write this book, I could envision the opportunity to reach and teach hundreds of thousands of intercessors in the Body of Christ all over the world the significance of prayer. Another goal I have is to reveal to each reader the importance of effective prayer and fasting. As righteous people, we must pray continuously to prevail and to accomplish and perfect the vision. James 5:16b says, The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

      My prayer is that this book will put a hunger and thirst within each reader to go before God in prayer and to seek Him to hear His call if it is on their heart to become an intercessor or a prayer warrior.

      God, may you breathe on this book, allowing it to be significant in awareness of an intimate relationship with you, calling forth intercessors and prayer warriors for the kingdom. May the Holy Spirit develop each of you to become effective in praying and warring, according to God’s will, and may you also pray for others to rise up and join this ministry. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

      We must always remember that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places," according to Ephesians 6:12 (emphasis added). Praying is essential, enabling us to stay in God’s place of rest and to be in God’s peace.

      I pray that this book will expose truth about prayer life, understanding of prayer, and the importance of a daily prayer life, along with reading and meditating on God’s Word daily because we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us, according to Romans 8:37.

      I pray this book will unite and engage believers all over the world to effectively pray and fast for the common good with the main focus and purpose directed toward praying without ceasing always for one another (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

      I pray the Holy Spirit will reveal to each reader how to pursue God’s plan and save the lost.

      In Jesus’s name, Amen.

      Let us be strong and mighty and take our position as believers and stand in the gap for one another. Be on the wall, wailing and travailing until we witness the manifestation of what God has spoken in His Word comes to pass for His people. This is needed in these times. We have an obligation to intercede and to pray for one another through the love Jesus Christ has for us as He intercedes on our behalf daily.

      Preface

      The book is about intercessors and intercession, but I wanted to share some things I feel are important before we begin this topic. This book is also for those who just have a heart to pray for others and to intercede on their behalf as God commands.

      As you are reading, I might not seem to stay true to the title, but the book all ties together so be patient and focus on the information to get the most from the book.

      I have learned that knowing who God is and knowing His character is important when praying, especially for those of us called as intercessors and prayer warriors. For example, when we need provision, we should see God as Jehovah God. When we need to feel His love as our Heavenly Daddy, we should see Him as our Abba, Father. When praying protection for others or for the nations, we should see Him as our Fortress.

      The scriptures quoted throughout the book help with the understanding of prayer and provide support as written in God’s Word. The Bible provides instructions about how God wants us to always be relational with Him daily, especially when praying. God has given us a handbook, the Word of truth, to tell us how to stay in our place of holiness, praying continuously. He is a God who answers prayers.

      This is my first book, and it is important to me to accomplish what God has asked of me. Obedience is better than sacrifice. I have written this book in obedience, guided by the Holy Spirit, learning along the way of how to please God.

      We all have a divine purpose. For me, learning to seek God’s face and build a genuine divine relationship with Him in my Christian walk is far more rewarding than saying I am a Christian. Would you agree?

      We were created to worship God, and a relationship with Him is the purpose of our existence. We must seek God’s face and establish a relationship with Him in order to know our purpose. It is my heart’s desire for each of us to be totally guided by the Holy Spirit, enabling us to walk a righteous life. We must read God’s Word for our daily bread, our direction, and protection from the ways of the world. The Word is our weapon against all unrighteousness. It is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, according to Hebrews 4:12a. The Bible will keep us focused on kingdom living in spite of the ways and the things of the world.

      We suffer from a lack of knowledge. But the Holy Spirit who reveals and brings God’s Word to life releases understanding to us all through a divine, unlimited, perfect, unconfined relationship with God.

      When we seek God’s face to build a relationship with Him, we will discover our divine purpose for being on earth. Remember, we all have a purpose that is directed by God.

      If you do not know if you are called to intercession, I recommend that you go before God and pray this prayer along with me.

      Father God, who art in heaven, in the name of Jesus, I pray that the person(s) reading this book will learn to hear your voice and direction so that they can fulfill their divine purpose, especially if they are called as an intercessor, and that they will be moved by the Holy Spirit, according to your Word. I also believe that you hear our prayers when we cry out to you as David so often did.

      We stand in agreement, believing you will answer us as you answered David when he prayed to you. We love You Lord, because you have heard our voice and supplications, because you inclined your ear unto us. (See Psalm 116:1–2a.)

      Hallelujah! We give you praise and thanks for hearing our prayer and answering.

      A  Prayer Calling Forth Intercessors

      Father God, I come before you with a heart of repentance, asking you to forgive me if I have sinned against you, knowingly or unknowingly. I forgive those who have sinned against me, and I have nothing against anyone. My heart is turned toward you, and I call upon you, my God, by faith, believing you will answer me from the heavens.
