Witch Please: Paranormal Prison Romance (Her Guardians Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 127 ratings

Witch Please, we aren’t getting out of here alive.

Life at the Guardians just got more complicated with our enemies released from maximum security. They want payback and our blood.

Our only chance of getting out of this in one piece is catching the criminal vampires and earning enough bounty points for our release.

The one good constant in my life is my men. But as our relationships grow, secrets come between us and things start to change.

Nothing good lasts forever. Does it?

Witch Please features plenty of action, four swoon-worthy men, and a heroine determined to end up on top. Tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, touch her and d!e, fated mates, forbidden romance, cinnamon rolls, golden retriever, and neurodivergent characters tropes.

This book contains dark elements with trigger warnings, suitable for 18+ readers. Later books in the series feature MM scenes and steamy AF group action.

Skyler Andra – Bad Boys & their Queens

USA Today bestselling author Skyler writes unforgettable paranormal romance with complicated and haunted heroes and the strong heroines they claim.

Skyler resides in Australia where most of her books are based. Be warned: she’ll have you laughing from her wicked humor, crying, and throwing your kindle in the space of a chapter. Sometimes she has to send her alter ego Evil Skyler to the naughty corner for torturing her heroes.

When she’s not plotting her next story or the demise of her villains, Skyler can be found searching for her partner’s ever-moving chocolate stash, snuggled with her fur babies, never following a recipe properly, and making up her own pilates moves… because where’s the fun in following the rules?

Witch Please is the third book and return to Skyler Andra’s Guild of Guardians series. Even though it’s been a good while since book two was released, book three isn’t that difficult to get into. If you haven’t read the series in a while, a quick refresher won’t hurt to fully catch-up on everything that has been going on with Astra and her group of men. Things settled in for a simmer, but you can bet that events are popping off and that the heat is coming.
Witch Please isn’t exactly what I was expecting/hoping for when I picked up this installment. I was really hoping for some fast-paced drama, danger, and thrills, but the first half of the book is...not necessarily mundane, but not exactly full of thrills either. Astra is loving her time with the guys, but she’s ready to have her appeal and get out. The time has finally come, of where she gets the notice, but will things work out for her this time? Or will something else come along to derail her hopes? Knoxe is still intent on getting his revenge on Styx, but that seems to be a slow train coming. There is some drama between the guys and Devon and Edwardo. Things have officially hit another level and now the whole team is in some deep danger. But things don’t stay there with them...there’s more...on the outside.
The storyline is good, but honestly, I need more from Astra. With the guys we get more from them than her. We get what it is that they’re thinking about, their planning and some of their issues. With Astra, we get a lot of steamy time with the guys and her wanting them. I don’t mind the steamy, but I need her chapters to be more than just that. She has her own issues like Pascal, and while Pascal’s are highlighted hers are muted and only touched on here and there. I want the author to focus on Astra a bit more like she did in book one, because the story in the first half isn’t what I expected and eventually heads back in the right direction, but diverts off often.
I’m rating this book 4 out of 5 stars. There are some interesting scenes and I’m interested to see how things play out in the future between Astra and Knoxe especially (read and you’ll see). But this addition seems a bit more mundane in comparison with them laying around so much and quite a bit of focus on their time off. Things get interesting here and there, but I needed more. Plus, there are some oddities in this story that had me raising my eyebrows more than once. But we’ll see what the next book holds for these characters.

Astra, a Guild of Guardians inmate, and Raze, another inmate and one if her boyfriends, are keeping a secret from Pascal, Knoxe and Tor, her other boyfriends and team members. As the story progresses their Styx investigation is in jeopardy, the danger inside the prison increases, and when trust s broken staying together could be at risk. Skyler Andra has left the reader wondering just what will happen when all the secrets come to light and if this group will survive the tumultuous storm they are thrown into in one piece or will it break them forever. Reader discretion advised due to dark subject matter and/or possible triggers.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

That ending was so emotional that should’ve been illegal to make a person cry that much. This book was bloody brilliant and worth that epic wait! I loved it all. Words can not describe how I feel but this was epic. The story was brilliant. I can not wait for the next one because this world is brilliant and I can not get enough of it.

It had been a while since I’d read the second book in this series, so when I read this third one, it took me a little bit to remember what was going on. However, once I did, I was back with Astra and her men. I really liked the different POVs. They help me get to know the characters so much more, and I can understand why they fell the way they do. I hate that there is a couple of secrets that have and will tear them apart; I really don’t like that trope. Other than that, this is a whirlwind of action (both kinds, wink, wink), and we learn more about the characters by meeting some of their family. If you love reverse harem paranormals, you will definitely love this one. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This series is like the last few chips at the bottom of the bag, I always have just enough to want more. I feel sort of teased by the author here, I'm not gonna lie. There had better be a massive pay off at the end of book 4 or I may have to break into a new brand of chip altogether. I was all in the first two books of this series but this books felt a little bit of a let down for me, like not enough happened to move the story along. I'm gonna stick it out, because this author hasn't let me down before.
