Truth in Lace (Desires Entwined) Kindle Edition
A spin-off of Temptations of Desire
Desires Entwined: Book 3.5
When Alexander James Noble looks in the mirror, he sees a freak looking back at him. Despite his high grades and plans for culinary arts school after graduation, his parents would hate him if they really knew him.
Forced on a shopping trip with his twin sister, Lyric, and her friends, Alex eyes the girls jealously, longing to be able to dress like them—to be them. The constant struggle of being “gender fluid,” wrestling with an identity that seems to change daily, begins to wear on Alex. But all those questions and fears seem more manageable when his sister gives him his first skirt and lace panties.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2017After reading Desires' Pride I immediately purchased this one and I was blown away yet again. Tempeste O'Riley's imagination is out of this world to create such fascinating characters and scenarios. The highs and lows as well as the challenges any person can face in a relationship plus personality traits are clearly shown in this book. I loved the aspects of acceptance and equality are highlighted in this story. It make me sigh and tear up a little. This splurge purchase was totally worth it and I suspect re-reads will be in order.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2017Sometimes dreams really do come true especially if you have a loving and understanding twin sister. When siblings care and help each other, anything, any dream can come true. My only criticism is that it isn't long enough, I want more.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2017The book brought home what I feel most of the time. Need to expand more into the subject so that others who feel the same way will not be alone.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2017Very well-done, especially for a short story. I like what this author did here, creating understanding by way of a story. She kept the story line contained, so that it left no loose ends, was quite impactful, and the main characters were developed. I enjoy reading about LGBT++ issues as a way to understand what makes us all "tick." I feel just a little more educated, having read this.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2014A short story that left me wanting more. Alex is trying to find himself. He wants to wear pretty girls clothes but knows it's never going to happen living at home during his senior year of high school until his sister gives him a little help. A very sweet wonderful story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2014The character swung back and forth like Tarzan in his emotional reactions to this or that. This is just a quick "background" short story for another one of her novels, and I'm glad I started with this one, because I definitely won't be reading the others.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2015Truth in Lace was a really quick read that was quite enjoyable. Despite its short length, Ms. O’Riley managed to put a lot of emotion into it to make it a really moving short story. In Truth in Lace we meet Alex who is hiding his sexuality from everyone around him, especially his father who keeps involving him in activities intended to “man him up.” In fact, he’s become so adept at hiding who he is that he refuses to acknowledge one of his desires to even himself – he wants to be able to wear girls’ clothing from time to time. An afternoon trip to the mall with his sister and her friends makes him more aware of his desire but he knows he can’t entertain the notion until he graduates and goes away to college. What made this story so impactful is that Alex’s sister Lyric is his twin and she picks up on her brother’s secret. In doing so, she takes steps to provide him with the opportunity and a safe way to engage in his interest. Additionally she shows him that her love and acceptance is unconditional. Truth in Lace is a beautiful short story that left me wanting more of Alex’s story.
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
