William Mize
A true pioneer in the self-publishing movement, William Mize attended and graduated from the prestigious Creative Writing Program at San Francisco State University. It was also in San Francisco that he won his first award for writing – his short story “Super Heroes” won the well-respected Bay Guardian Fiction Contest in 1991. After graduation in 1994, Mize returned to St. Petersburg, Florida but continued his education, studying the mystery novel with his current mentor, Macavity Award-Winning mystery writer Deborah Adams, creator of the best-selling Jesus Creek Mystery series (All The Dark Disguises; All The Deadly Winters). In 1997, his first novel, Resurrection Angel, was chosen by noted mystery writer, critic and editor Robert J. Randisi as a finalist in the St. Martin’s Press – Private Eye Writers of America Best First Novel of The Year Contest. In 2000, taking advantage of the current Print-On-Demand technology, Resurrection Angel was self-published through Writer’s Press, an imprint of iUniverse.com. In 2001, Mize made publishing history when Resurrection Angel was nominated by the Private Eye Writers of America for one of their highest honors, The Shamus Award for Best First Novel of The Year, making it the first Print on Demand book ever to be nominated for a major publishing award. In 2006, he returned to the Print On Demand arena, using Lulu.com to bring “Resurrection Angel” and the second book in the series, “Everlasting Life” to the marketplace. With gorgeous new designed matching covers, and a third book “Spear of Destiny” coming soon, it marks the triumphant return of a great mystery writer and inspiration for a new generation of writers who want to use the internet and up to date technology to bring their works to life. In 2013, Mize decided to broaden his audience and expand the scope of his life and become a Certified Life Coach and Certified Business Coach. A graduate of the World Coach Institute and a consultant for the last 17 years, Bill specializes in breaking down the tasks necessary to create an amazing life worth living. He is available to speak to your group, teach group classes and one on one individual coaching. William Mize currently lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he is at work on the next book in the planned twelve book series.

Once upon a time, I thought I was Batman.
I wasn’t some 8 year old, playing dress up on Halloween.
I was 40 years old, and I was about ready to borrow a good friends gun and put it between my lips, just so I could see a flash of light in the darkness that surrounded me.
I was alone.
I had no friends.
I had no lover.
I was stuck in a dead end job that I went to each day and hated with the heat of a thousand suns.
