Lively and intriguing mystery involving some of my favorite things -- art, history, and Italy. I recommend this book, and look forward to reading the series. I started with Book 2, which stands on its own just fine, but I'll go back to Book 1. The strength of the characterizations and quality of writing endeared me to Gigi Pandian's book and made me want to look for others by her. Especially if you love a connection between East and West, this book is for you. A fun read, and an entertaining history mystery.

Michelangelo's Ghost is the fourth book in the Jaya Jones mystery series. I've read them all, and in order, which I would recommend doing as the characters relationships with one another develop over the series as do some overarching plot lines. That said, I thought the first book in the series was a bit weak, but the rest of the series makes it worth reading nonetheless. In Michelangelo's Ghost, as in her other books, Pandian has researched unique times and places in history to create a story line that is both intriguing and educating. She really manages to open a door on history in the midst of a fast paced story line. The protagonist, Jaya Jones, is a young, untenured history professor in San Francisco. Her cast of friends are colorful and always entertaining, I particularly enjoy her magician friend Sanjay. Really these books are worth reading for the characters and history alone. Some of the mysteries in this book seemed pretty obvious to me, but while I wasn't always surprised at the revelation, I did enjoy every step of the way. Looking forward to the next one! And if you like these, I definitely recommend the Accidental Alchemist, by Pandian, which has a supernatural twist and which I like even more.

Gigi has done it again. Our favorite historian Jaya Jones finds herself in Italy for this thriller, searching for lost masterpieces that could prove to be the link between the Renaissance and India. And since Jaya is known to leap first and think later, not only does she find herself in big time trouble in Italy's Park of Monsters, she has to also worry about her brother and his girlfriend since they decided to accompany her on this quest.

I love the way that Gigi manages to make me feel like I'm part of the investigation, trying to figure out "who-dun-it" before Jaya does, but I was really, truly fooled in this one, by so many things. I can't imagine how the author can dream up such great stories, but I'm certainly grateful that she does. I can't put down her books, and my only complaint now is that I've caught up with all the series, Jaya's and the Accidental Alchemist, so now I have to wait anxiously until the next book comes out.

If you appreciate great mysteries in exotic locales I think you'll Gigi's books too. Just make sure you have a day free to finish it, because you won't be able to put it down.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Jaya Jones series, and Michelangelo’s Ghost doesn’t disappoint. Jaya, Lane, and Sanjay continue their romantic triangle dance while Jaya bulldozes her way through the world following clues to the next great historical discovery. The addition of Jaya’s brother and his girlfriend was icing on the cake.

When Jada Jones receives a letter from her old mentor, Lilith Vine, asking her to come see her, Jada jumps at the chance to go while at the same time wondering what Lilith is up to as Lilith's credibility was called into question resulting in her going into seclusion.  When she arrives at Lilith's house, it's to find that Lilith has in her possession three diaries from an artist who lived during the time of Michelangelo and thought to be his protege.    Lilith entrusts the diaries to Jada hoping Jada can  help her find the art and prove that the connection between Indian art and the Italian renaissance existed and at the same time, help Lilith restore her name in the art community.

When Lilith later dies from an apparent overdose, Jada, along with her brother and his new girlfriend, sets off for Italy to find the lost art of Lazzaro Allegri that's been missing for four centuries somewhere in the Park of Monsters.   Was Lilith's death a suicide or was it murder and why is someone trying to scare Jaya away from the Park of Monsters?

This is an engaging, well written addition to Gigi Panadan's Jaya Jones Treasure Hunting series that I would recommend to all who like mysteries, especially those dealing with missing art.

Amazing! I stayed up all night and read this book!! This girl can write!!! I love Gigi's books. Her characters are so well-written that you just fall into the stories and you don't want to crawl out. I suggest it to anyone who wants to travel to faraway places and learn about new cultures. Well done!

I found this to be the best offering of the Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mystery series! Although I really liked the other books in the series, I found that the author wrote about and described the Italian park so well that I felt I was there.

As usual I loved the characters, but must mention I especially loved Jaya's brother, Mahilan. Their relationship and the way they banter back and forth reminds me of the my relationship with my brothers.

And I also could really relate to Jaya's unusual food combinations...!
