Ahh I am SO excited for the 7C’s series!! Starting off with Colt was amazing! He and Zee have a long and complicated history, beginning with a decades old family feud and ending in a burning blaze.
Zee has avoided Pigeon Creek for years. She is labeled as a murdered because she got the blame for a barn fire. On her family enemy’s land. But Zee didn’t set the fire, and the barn was her refuge and safe place. Forced to go back to Pigeon Creek by her grandmother, she is hit with a difficult decision. An arranged marriage to save the family ranch. Marry the enemy for money. Yikes!
Colt bears the weight of the world on his shoulders. He runs the multi million dollar empire his family built, the 7C’s. He’s been raising his younger brother. He helps to save battered woman and give them a safe place. He is the Guy. When his father forces him into an arranged marriage with the threat that it’s good for the ranch, Colt doesn’t go too unwillingly. He remembers Zee McAllister from years ago. When he thought she set a fire that devastated his family. But when he finally has a light bulb moment, he figures out that Zee didn’t set the fire, and it was more than likely someone much closer to home.
Honestly I love this story. It has the funniest banter, the craziest best friends, I am obsessed with the crossovers and cameos, and it has smoking hot cowboys! Need I say more?
Things Left Unsaid is a small town, cowboy romance, sort of a second chances with friends to enemies to lovers, but it comes across as more of a bad timing in the beginning (age difference and family conflicts). Zee and Colt were like too baby foals, trying to figure out their new life together but didn’t really have any clue of what was happening. I love the introduction of the triplets, and loved seeing more of Callan and Cody (and yes Cole)!
I cannot wait for Cody and Tee(hopefully!)’s story! I was shook by that little clue at the end with Cody’s pov and the pen pal!! So excited!!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2024Let me first acknowledge I only read this book because I absolutely LOVE Serena Akeroyd! Her books Steel, and Filthy Hot are my 2 favorite books of all time. I jumped into this thinking it would be a good new series.
The book itself was well written and the story keeps you interested. Its realistici-sh, and the characters are well developed. It was a bit too tame for my taste but to each their own.
As per usual the female main character is strong willed and gets her HEA. Her banter with her friends is really what kept me reading until the end. The male main character was a little more bland than I would have expected. He was a little Alpha but definitely not OTT. He's definitely not burning any cities down for her if this doesnt work out...LOL
All in all a good book if your looking for a softer romance read. If you need something with a little grit and darkness check out literally ANY book from Serena Akeroyd and you will not be disappointed. The fact that she can write such different types of stories speaks volumes about her skillset!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2024Thanks Gemma Mazurke / SA, I’m in awe of your writing!
I’m a long time reader of literary works of art err books by Serena Akeroyd aka GA Mazurke and have really enjoyed each and every book in the different genres and tropes, from Why Choose to MF, MC and Mafia to Paranormal, fantasy to Hockey!
This was another exceptional story, a cowboy/ girl one from the small town to the city-the characters are always so real, with so much heart and emotions, can really relate to the various issues that they or others in their close circle deal with. Zee and Colt have a tumultuous relationship and the twists, the interesting interactions they have along with the merry band of family and friends, the cameos from the MC series, the 7cs and the Bar9, was wonderful. I’ll be doing a re-read soon of the Waiting game, and this one again.
It’s slow burn but then so spicy 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🥵
The trigger warnings are mentioned towards the end but please do check if you as a reader do get triggered.
Waiting for the next one, Cody’s story and of course before that the bonus scene in the FB group too!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2024Things Left Unsaid by G. A. Mazurke is the first book in the 7 Cs, a Pigeon Creek novel! And I was so eager to get my greedy hands on this story, and Zee and Colton completely captivated my heart!
Colton is simultaneously a rough and ready cowboy, ready to throw down for his loved ones, for his land, and a gentleman, and the dichotomy is delicious!
And Zee? She's feisty, caring, has so much love to give, is trying so hard not to be held back by the past, wants to be accepted and embraced for who she is.
This story was a wonderful rollercoaster ride of a journey. It was emotional. It showed how different people deal with trauma and history, it showed growth, acceptance, how to move towards a future. It dealt with miscommunications, mistrust, and feeling like it's you against the world. And then how amazing it feels when you're no longer standing in battle alone.
I am intrigued to see what other mysteries shall be unraveled as people come together, as family antics ensue, as the drama plays out, and love conquers all. Bring it on! I am hungry for more!
P. S. Those. Text. Chats...I adore them! So much personality, so much sass!
P. P. S. My heart got so happy, seeing and hearing from familiar faces!!!

Things Left Unsaid
(7C’s: A Pigeon Creek #1)
By G.A. Mazurke
In Things Left Unsaid, readers get a wonderful foray into life 90 miles outside Saskatoon, a forced marriage, a small town that never forgets or forgives, a visit with the Sinners MC and enough suspense to make readers want to become detectives….and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
Clyde (Colton Korhonen’s father) and Suzanne’s (aka Zee) Grande-mere Juliette McAllister have concocted a marriage contract between Colt and Zee. It’s set up well for both parties, well for Clyde and Juliette mostly, what would Colton and Zee think? It’s not like they have talked to each other…let’s see 10 years maybe?
Zee is currently living in New York while Colton is running the 7C’s Ranch in Pigeon Creek. Yeah…no love lost between these two! More like a huge chasm!!
There is tension, heart-wrenching confessions, numbers that don’t add up and it’s like a maze of events that when they are sorted make you realize that no one would have expected what was unearthed.
All of this and it isn’t anywhere near half of what we end up finding out, keep your notebook close, because your going to all become the newest members of the RCMP.
We get to know Zee’s three brothers, Calder, Carson and Colby (triplets), we spend more time with Lindsay and Ida, and see Callan open up to people outside the Korhonen family.
This truly becomes a love story but Colton and Zee have to bend to come together, they need honesty to help them move towards friends before lovers.
With hilarious text messages and a secret that brings Zee together with friends she has missed, Things Left Unsaid, makes sure that pretty much everything does get said by the end.
I love reading anything written by G.A. Mazurke/Serena Akeroyd, readers are drawn into her stories and you become part of the the plot, feel comfortable with the characters and know that you will be coming back again and again!

5.0 out of 5 stars great start to a new book series
I really enjoyed this story and apart from having to put it down to sleep for a few hours, couldn’t put it down. I like the writing style a lot and the pace was fitting. Both characters have been through a lot and found their way back to each other on a way that made it seem realistic enough. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED this book!!!
I LOVED this book…. I was intrigued when we were introduced to the Korhonen family in Cole’s book and couldn’t wait to find out what they were all about when the spin-off series was announced.
Zee & Colt were just, yeah, they were everything!!
I kinda wanted to dislike Colton but when we discovered what had happened ten years prior and why he reacted the way he did it was nigh on impossible to dislike him at all.
Colt was a protector and that was obvious in both present day and flashbacks. His connection to Zee started more than a decade prior and even though they hadn’t had any contact in the ten years since they last saw each other the flame was still burning for both of them even if they each had their own reasons and secrets that gave them reasons to keep the gulf between them from closing.
Zee (Suzanne) had had a torrid time and had left Pigeon Creek and her family’s ranch with literally no intention of ever returning, this was a place she no longer considered home for multiple reasons.
I felt for her when she realised the depths of the arrangement her grandmother had schemed with the head of the Korhonen family. I understood her demands and her reasoning behind her thoughts but I was delighted when things between her and Colt started to improve and the hints of the people they were before started to appear.
There were more than a few things going on in this book and the plot was well done. There were secrets, lies and some skullduggery that kept me guessing and certain side characters that I just could not stand.
I had concerns that there was gonna be a communication issue (one of my pet peeves in a book) between our MCs but Colt & Zee build a level of trust that had them keeping (most) lines of communication open. I spent a lot of the read waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did, it was not wuite what I was expecting, but it was delicious!!!! 😈😈😈
I adored Callan and his relationship with Zee was fab. I loved how Colt looked out for his baby brother but still treated him as an important part of the ranch and family.
I’m so looking forward to Cody’s book. The guy has me tied up in knots wondering what’s happened with him.
The epilogues…. They just finished the book so well in my opinion.
This book was 5 solid stars for me and a book I can definitely see myself reading again in the future!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart-warming Small Town Romance
Things Left Unsaid was such a sweet and swoony small town romance, with an amazing plot and beautifully written characters.
This book not only hit all the right tropes for me - second chance, enemies-to-lovers, cinnamon roll cowboy - but did it so brilliantly. There is a huge number of interesting secondary characters in this world, and I can't wait to read more of this series.
