I walked out to the beach from the wooden deck of my beach house. Well, it wasn’t just mine. I owned it with my husband, Jason, he just wasn’t here right now.
I had made the three hour drive from our primary home yesterday, planning to spend a week or so out here by myself, enjoying the ocean and the quiet. Work had been particularly stressful lately and it was time for a break.
Jason wouldn’t be able to make it this week. His work was keeping him at home, and, frankly, that was fine with me. I liked being by myself and needed that time periodically. Also, sometimes I just thought it was nice to have a break from each other.
