About this ebook
I've lived it myself. I wrote this book to share the knowledge I wish I'd known ten years ago—before I became a distance dad, before the legal battles, and before parental alienation began. It would have saved me so much time, energy, sanity, and money. You can't always be near your child. But that doesn't mean you can't still be their dad. Read this book if you want to build bonds that distance, legal obstacles, or parental alienation can't break.
Own Fatherhood. It Matters Today.
Through research and trial and error, I developed strategies across many areas that actually work. The close bond my child and I share today—despite all the odds—is living proof of that. My book is filled with practical, easy-to-follow tips you can apply right away. It's not rocket science. In fact, you'll see much of it is just common sense.
Some of the things you'll learn:
- Parent your child positively and effectively, even from afar
- Build and keep a meaningful bond at each developmental stage
- Use tech and smart tricks to turn boring video calls into engaging moments
- Handle legal battles and parental alienation as a divorced or long-distance dad
- Save money on legal fees, travel, and gifts
You don't need permission to be a dad. You just need the right knowledge and tools. Let this guide help you become the dad your child remembers and respects—no matter the circumstances.

The Ultimate Long-Distance Dads Guide - drs. Danny R. Andreas Msc
Praise For The Ultimate Long-Distance Dads Guide
The Ultimate Long-Distance Dads Guide provides a hands-on toolkit for fathers who want to actively build and maintain a close bond with their children, even across physical distance.
It’s written for divorced dads as well as for fathers who are frequently away from home — for example, due to work commitments. It may also be useful for separated mothers seeking a new perspective, or for professionals working with separated families.
Right from the start, the author – Drs. Danny R. Andreas, MSc. – makes one thing clear: fatherly presence does not end with physical separation. Strong emotional bonds are still possible.
What stood out most to us are the 25 actionable strategies. These range from meaningful video-call rituals to age-appropriate gift ideas and peaceful child handovers.
A clear thread throughout the book is respect for the mother. This aligns with our experience in family support: negative remarks not only damage the co-parenting dynamic but also put the father-child relationship at risk. Naturally, this is something both parents and their respective circles need to uphold.
Sensitive topics such as parental alienation and gatekeeping are openly addressed and supported with de-escalating, practical solutions — a big plus, since these are common challenges in our daily advisory work.
Another positive aspect: the author clearly favors mediation over long, drawn-out court battles. He emphasizes shared parental responsibility as a central theme. This shifts the focus back to the parents’ duty — and the child’s right — to have a meaningful relationship with both parents. That is a core concern of Väteraufbruch für Kinder e.V.
Conclusion
The Ultimate Long-Distance Dads Guide is a motivating and practical compass for dads who live far from their children – and maybe even for moms.
We welcome this book because it supports the implementation of cooperative parenting, especially after separation or divorce.
Christoph Köpernick, Board Member of Väteraufbruch für Kinder e.V., vaeteraufbruch.de
Danny Andreas’ The Ultimate Long-Distance Dads Guide is a wonderful resource for fathers who are distanced.
This could be fathers who travel for work or separated fathers who are in close proximity but are being alienated from their children.
The same principles apply in having to work to create and maintain a meaningful bond with your children.
His advice, informed by his own experience, is thoughtful and creative at the same time simple and practical.
He relays what I have told 100s of fathers – you need to work your short, intermediate and long-term goals at the same time.
For those fathers who find themselves in protracted battles to be more actively involved in their children’s lives, this book can help you make the most of the limited contact you have with your children.

About The Author
Preface
In the quiet corners of our lives, where miles stretch between a father's heart and his child's, a unique story unfolds.
This book, The Ultimate Distance Dad's Guide,
is born from a deep understanding of that story, a journey I've witnessed firsthand with its author, my esteemed former client.
Our shared history spans years, a long road we've travelled together, even facing the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I remember his little girl taking her first unsteady steps; now, she has blossomed into a young woman.
Through legal battles and emotional tides, including the isolating times of the pandemic, we faced a shared struggle.
It's a testament to the enduring bond between parent and child, even when distance and global events cast their shadows.
If you find yourself in this space, feeling the ache of separation due to work's demands or the complexities of divorce, know this: you are not alone.
This book is a beacon, a hand reaching out across the miles to offer solace, understanding, and a path forward.
More than just emotional support, it offers real-world strategies to stay present, maintain strong communication, and nurture your bond, no matter how far apart you are.
Inside, you'll find practical steps you can take to create meaningful moments and build a resilient relationship with your child.
Within these pages, you'll discover insights and strategies, not just to cope, but to actively cultivate connection and turn the sour lemons of circumstance into the sweet refreshment of lemonade.
This is for every father who carries his child in his heart, no matter the distance or the challenges life throws their way.
Wishing you an insightful read,
as advocate and fellow traveller on this journey,

Introduction
Welcome
Hi Dad,
I’m really glad you made it here. Just by opening this book, you've already shown that you take your role as a father seriously — whether you're divorced, separated by distance, or working far from home. That alone says a lot. It means you're ready to go the extra mile for your child. And that matters more than you might realize. By the end of this book you will understand that it makes all the difference.
My name is Danny Andreas. I’m a 55-year-old devoted long-distance father, and the founder of Parantas and Distancedads.com. Despite the many challenges distance brings, I’ve managed to build and maintain a close bond with my 10-year-old daughter — even though we live more than a thousand kilometers apart (about 620 miles).
It hasn’t been easy. Our journey as a long-distance father and child has had its ups and downs. But every effort has paid off. My daughter grew up bilingual, embraced my native culture, and when she first visited my home country, she felt at home straight away. That deep connection has always been our anchor.
It’s also what motivated me to dive deep into how to be the best dad I could be from a distance. Over time, I developed practical strategies that actually work. Things like creative time management, consistent virtual visitation routines, and using communication technology to
