Is there life after?
This was a tough one one; not funny or suspenseful but a really good book. Tragic loss has been expressed in such a way that this is not especially a tearjerker but a journey from loss to healing. Losing a spouse or older loved one is heartbreaking but to bury your child taken from you is gut wrenching. Mikala has buried her five year old daughter Molly killed in a car accident with her father. She is inconsolable and her husband David has isolated himself with his grief and blame. She has her two close friends Jake and Rena from college days 20 years ago that have stuck by her side. Sometimes you find you really didn’t know someone until after they die and the secrets slowly start to spill out. You look back and realize the signs were there but you chose not to see them. You never forget but you find a way back and survive to begin again. Very well written and worthy of a read.
