While traveling cross-country searching for the blood and pain I'd foreseen in a vision, I landed in rural Ohio courtesy of a kindly soul. Lou was a good woman, a solid, faithful, salt of the Earth type.

And on Friday, she was going to die.

I'd long ago learned that nothing I did would deter fate's course. But I couldn't leave Ohio without trying to save Lou.

Fate, though, had more in store for her than a simple death by hit-and-run. Far more. And her fate brought me face to face with a terror from my own past, a terror I had to stop before it used Lou to unleash the wild magic and create something much worse than the death I had foreseen.

    I love this story! The way the author reveals the mystery behind the main character is one of my favourite parts - it’s a pull here, a tug there, until you finally get almost the full insight. I always appreciate that versus a whole immediate info dump. The storyline is intriguing as well as the suspense of knowing what’s going to happen, yet not knowing if it really will happen. It’s Hitchcock’s “MacGuffin” in a way and I love that! I highly recommend!

    I really liked this introduction to Kala Fox who can see when a person will die by touching them. She tries to avoid touching people as the visions are quite graphic and unsettling but sometimes it does happen. Kala has many questions about her "gift" and I also want to learn more about her as she finds the answers. I hope to be able to read more about Kala's adventures and her quest to find her parent's killer in the next two books in the series when they're published.

    I'm hoping there will be more Kaya stories. This one was interesting. I especially liked that Maya struggles with panic attacks something I am familiar with myself. Her power is an interesting one and I'm curious about what she discovers next. Maybe she can only effect the outcome when its related to the supernatural? We will never find out if enough of us don't buy the story. So please do and give it a try. Anxiously awaiting the next book.

    If you’re looking for a new character with a quirky “Superpower” to root for your in luck. Kaya Fox can see your death with a touch. I really enjoyed this introduction to Kaya and am looking forward to learning more about her and her power and a unknown man she sees in her future!
