About this audiobook
The heart is deceitful above all things. Who can understand it?
When Juliana Issot’s godmother invites her to spend the month of Christmas at a house party in Yorkshire, Juliana feels compelled by affection to accept. Never mind that she escaped Yorkshire at first chance to secure a more glittering match in London and that the only matrimonial prospect back homeis her childhood playmate, Willelm.
Willelm Armitage is a born-and-bred Yorkshireman, and as far as he is concerned, Juliana belongs here, too—here at his side. However, the one time he dared to convince her of this, she speedily gave him the right-about, making him question whether she truly is the right choice for him. After all, if she cannot see how well they suit, why should he force her hand ?
A Christmas house party with pudding, games, charades, riding, and carols turns out to be just the thing to remind Juliana of how much she loves Yorkshire. But when her nostalgia slips into love, will she be able to admit that Willelm knows the longings of her heart better than she knows her own?

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be an entertaining story with a great setting for the holiday season. The characters are well-rounded, with the exception of Julianna who is seen as self-centered. The narrator's voice is easy to listen to, although there were some instances of rushing and monotone reading. Overall, this book is a good, clean romance with a happy ending.

I just loved the character of Willelm, he was of average height and looks but he had a heart of gold! He was so thoughtful and caring of other’s feelings. Whereas, Julianna, I just couldn’t like, she seemed very self-centred and she reminded me of a child who only wants a toy when someone else has it and then sulks about it. I did enjoy the Christmas/New Year house party setting with all the entertainments and traditions. I found this to be an entertaining story with just the right setting for this time of year. The narrator gave an excellent reading, changing her voice for the characters. Stevie Zimmerman also has an easy voice to listen to. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. Second listen…I will definitely make this a yearly listen! Exceptionally well written with varied sentence structure, well-rounded characters, and a happy plot…just the thing for a soul exhausted from “Woke” stories on TV! - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Story was good, clean romantic and they all lived happily ever after, although narrator at times was rushing the reading and it was monotone/flat which took away from the enjoyment.
