Megan Slayer
When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind. When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command. She also writes under the name of Wendi Zwaduk.

Faerie Matchmaker - Megan Slayer
Chapter One
I’M READY FOR A HOT shower, hotter fuck and a decent night’s sleep with said hot fuck.
Cordelia wiped off the last table, then rubbed her forehead with the back of her hand. Waiting tables wasn’t a horrible job, but she’d rather be involved in the magical. At least she wasn’t working with her sister. She loved her baby sister, Kalista, or Kali as she called her. But Kali was too damn perky.
Cordelia’s head ached. She’d come into work late and had a dozen tables full of cranky customers. To top things off, her sister said something about having a wolf at the rescue. What in the hell was Kali going to do with a God damn wolf? Probably get eaten. But honestly, what was Cordelia going to do? She could go rogue and shift the wolf into something else...maybe a handsome guy. She waggled her head. A hot guy wouldn’t be bad, but knowing her luck, he’d be interested in her sweet, demure sister. She tipped her head. What would Kalista do? Something cutesy and magical that would get her the love of her life. Or eaten. Cordelia shrugged. Better to help her sister and have to look away during the big nookie nookie moment than allowing Kalista to be eaten. Good thing she’d put an entry into her calendar to remind her to meet up with Kali to check out the big hairy doggie.
Whatever. Cordelia would worry about men and her family later. She finished cleaning off the table, then picked up the bucket.
The bell dinged and she didn’t bother to turn around. Lizzie, you take that table. I’m done.
The other waitress didn’t say anything. Of course she wouldn’t. Lizzie wasn’t the most reliable server. Cordelia groaned. She tossed the rag into the bucket, then carried both to the counter. She didn’t look up at the woman at the hostess stand. I’m off position. Lizzie will be here once she gets her ass in gear.
She chuckled to herself. Of all things, her mouth tended to be the reason the café was packed. Humans seemed to like being served by a blue-haired woman with a snarky attitude. If they ever found out she was a faerie, a real one, they’d probably stop coming in. Or they’d want her to create magic for them. Too bad she didn’t have a whole lot of magic left.
The bell dinged again. She groaned. I’m serious. I’m not serving. Lizzie?
I’m not here for Lizzie.
Oh Christ. Cordelia closed her eyes. She didn’t want to see the woman at the hostess stand. Hestia. The head faerie. Coming to see her. Mother fu—
She didn’t finish her statement.
I’m not your mother. Just your elder and I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t swear in front of me. I’m not here to eat so you can tell Lizzie to take five. Besides, human food is too greasy.
Hestia gestured to the closest booth. Come. Sit. We need to talk. Now.
Yes, ma’am. About my mouth?
She wasn’t big on sweetness, but never let it be said Cordelia didn’t have manners from time to time. She respected her elder. She joined Hestia at the booth. I’m in shit up to my tits, aren’t I?
What had she done this time? She’d behaved...right?
No.
Hestia frowned. Please. You’re a lady. Act like one.
I’m not a lady and I never will be.
Cordelia shrugged. I’m a faerie.
I see.
Hestia flattened her palms on the table. Instead of her usual flowing white robe and faded pink beehive hairstyle, she wore her pale pink hair in a bun and had dressed in a drab brown business suit dress. You have a job.
I’m at it.
Okay, so she didn’t sound thrilled. Working at the café paid her bills, but did nothing for her magic. Hell, the job probably made her grouchier.
"A faerie job." Hestia nodded once.
Are you serious?
Cordelia snorted. I’m not encouraged to practice magic since I accidentally fused Dornan and Chelsey for an hour. It was the best hour of their lives and it got them to stop arguing long enough to fall in love, but still.
She shrugged. Getting into trouble was her forte.
You’ve always been...unorthodox.
Hestia folded her hands.
So, what’s the job and why me? Which is it? No one else can or no one else wants to?
She knew her place. She was the outlaw...the wild card. Magic didn’t always work and neither did love, despite her being a love faerie.
He’s a merman.
Hestia met Cordelia’s gaze.
Oh, well...just a merman.
How in the hell was she going to communicate with him? She hated water.
We have a merman and a human male who can see paranormals, but doesn’t believe what he sees.
Hestia toyed with one of her gigantic rings. The human thinks the merman is imaginary.
That happens.
Cordelia sat back and folded her arms. How do I get to this merman?
He’s down at the water’s edge. Call for Henry. He’ll show up. He’s desperate.
Hestia stood. Oh, and when you’re done, you’ve got to work with a vampire and human. You can’t miss the human—the vampire’s human. He’s always at the library. His name is Parker. The vampire is out wandering the pier. Can’t miss him. He’s handsome. As for the merman’s human, I’m not sure what his name is. Henry wouldn’t tell me.
Cordelia sighed. She didn’t have a date for that night or any other night. She might as well give the love match a try. Okay, I’ll...mash that merman and human together.
Good. Start tonight. The human likes to paint at sunset.
Hestia stood. Oh, and Henry is waiting. I told him you were on the way.
Great. I love strolling the boardwalk in a tight tank top, skimpy shorts and no bra.
She smiled. I’ll clock out and find him.
I’ve already talked to your boss. You’re free to go, but remember this. If you do your job and bring these two souls together, you’ll not only get the use of your magic back for good, but you’ll get more fae jobs. What do you think of that?
Hestia waved her hand. Instead of walking out of the café, she disappeared into thin air.
Fucking balls.
Another job if she was successful? Cordelia glanced around the room. No one seemed to notice Hestia was gone, but she knew. Jesus. Someone could stroll naked around the café without anyone saying a word. She untied her apron and headed to the counter. She totaled up her receipts, then
