So he may have been off by a few decades, but his crystal gazing seems right on. And his characters are so well drawn and sympathetic that you truly care what happens to them. On top of that, he never seems to use a cliche - in that, he resembles Michael Chabon.

While parts of it seemed forced, the majority of it was nice and fun to read! I liked the characters, but wished Gibson had spent some more time developing some of the friendships a bit more. Still definitely interested in reading the next book in the trilogy!

About the author
William Gibson is credited with having coined the term "cyberspace" and having envisioned both the Internet and virtual reality before either existed. He is the author of Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive, Burning Chrome, Virtual Light, Idoru, All Tomorrow's Parties, Pattern Recognition, Spook Country, Zero History, Distrust That Particular Flavor, and The Peripheral. He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, with his wife.
