It's nice to get a bridge between Clone Wars and Rebels, but it's otherwise mediocre. Johnston's writing just didn't pull me in. The characters didn't seem particularly memorable. Ahsoka didn't particularly feel like the character from the TV shows(She didn't feel particularly out of character either though, just , meh) If you want that bridge or need to read everything Star Wars then sure, it's an OK book, but otherwise, you're better off reading something else.

The language in this book is very juvenile. The author continuously repeats Ahsoka's name sentence after sentence when not necessary. It unfortunately detracts from the storyline. I am currently still reading but find it surprising that the editors didn't try to correct the overuse prior to publishing.

... ultimately the story itself is the problem. I was excited by the synopsis but had no idea Ahsoka's life after Order 66 could be so boring. Starting is ripe with potential & excitment which fizzles into the middle which is just mundane. Then the finale is filled with action but too little too late. Writing was great just wished it were used on a story worth reading.
