About this ebook

Justice Heuristic is a haunting exploration of guilt, consequences, and the relentless pursuit of justice. David Keller, the man who once pioneered groundbreaking AI algorithms, now finds himself trapped in a virtual prison of his own design, tormented by the very system he created. Now he's in a world where nothing is real—except the consequences of his actions.

David's only way out is to surrender the keys to the dangerous AI programs he built. But as the digital world tortures him with memories of his family and the damage he's caused, he faces an impossible choice: save himself or undo the devastation he's responsible for.

Fast-paced, thought-provoking, and darkly ironic, Justice Heuristic asks: How far will we go to escape the consequences of our actions? And can a man who caused so much harm ever find redemption?

    Justice Heuristic

David wept by the rushing mountain river. Water over stone, nature's ancient song, and choking sobs. Tortured by the pain you feel when you feel no pain.

Birds swooped and called in the gathering dusk. Lights flickered in the dining hall across the meadow. Vacationers strolled trim asphalt paths, phones out, endless pictures of fiery-colored granite walls. Backpackers tramped by with exhausted smiles. You could hike forever and never see everything.

They served four-star cuisine you couldn't taste. Leaves fluttered in the breeze of fresh air you couldn't smell. You could jump into snowmelt rivers but wouldn't feel the bracing cold. David's diet consisted of unscratchable itches, throbbing twinges, shooting spasms.

David Keller remembered pioneering the algorithms. The Prisondise? This virtual dungeon? His idea. It would be hysterically ironic if it weren't so painful. Had he been here for a month? A year? A decade? No one would tell him. They would wait indefinitely. One NPC visted, aware of David’s imprisonment. She only wanted one thing, and it wasn't David's welfare.

Let me go, David pleaded, his tear-streaked face glaring at the woman in uniform. A day is all I want! Haven't I earned a furlough yet?

    No furloughs.

    But, my family ...

    They're fine, David.

"No, I have to see them. They have to
