About this ebook
Sleep.
It comes easy to some people.
They actually look forward to getting a good night's sleep.
But what about those who can't sleep?
What about those who need to stay awake to stop death from coming?
Addison Mitchells was just your normal teenage girl.
She loved her life and was surrounded by good friends.
Sure, she had to say goodbye to certain people that she loved, but that was normal, wasn't it?
Didn't everyone have to say goodbye to loved ones at some point in their lives?
The answer would be yes if you're not Addison Mitchells, causing the death of people you love the most, just by going to sleep at night.

Don’t Fall Asleep
Tell me about your dreams, Addison.
The sound of her voice calling out my name reminds me where I am and I hate it. Only Dr. Kohn and my teachers call me Addison; my mom and all my friends call me Addy.
I fidget with my hands, entwining my fingers together on the cold, black table. I hate coming here every Wednesday night but Mom forces me.
Dr. Kohn is a fairly young woman with strawberry blonde hair and kind green eyes. She is a single mother of twin girls, aged six. I have been seeing her for the past six weeks.
They’re not dreams,
I snap, responding with vehement.
Nightmares, my apologies.
I shake my head back and forth in disapproval. I grab a loose strand of my long ash-blonde hair, and push it behind my right ear. I stare at her with my icy blue eyes.
Dr. Kohn tries again. Visions?
I look her dead in the eyes and respond, No. It’s not like any of that stuff you’ve seen on TV. I’ve told you since I first started coming here. These are different…real. They really happen. I can’t sleep at night; I have to stay awake.
She looks at me with her eyes wide open trying to assess my diagnosis. I don’t get what’s her problem. It’s not like this is the first time she’s hearing about this.
Why don’t we take it back to the beginning, when these first started? Tell me about the first time this happened, Addison.
I take a deep breath and sit back in my chair. My gaze drops to the ground as I’m not looking forward to reliving the nightmares I’d had to endure for so long now. I don’t want to go back and discuss what happens to me whenever I do go to sleep at night. I just wish these people–my mother and Dr. Kohn–would leave me the hell alone. Why do they force me to come here like I have some type of problem? There’s nothing wrong with me. I know what happens is real. I know that I’m not crazy.
Granted, Mom and Dr. Kohn never labeled me as such. But I know that they think otherwise. How else would they explain everything I had tried so hard for so long to warn them about? They didn’t know what to do for me. They didn’t know how to help. This is the only way my mother thinks she is doing me good. But if she’ll just
