A Life Entwined synopsis
Fame and fortune beckoned. Jeff Diamond was a success, whatever that meant. Fans followed him everywhere, reporters and photographers hid around every corner and journalists recorded his many indiscretions. A whole different world to the downtrodden streets of Sydney’s south-west, where vices were satisfied by using people to one’s best advantage. The star had more money than he could spend, his opinion suddenly counted, and the opportunities to feed his ever-hungry mind were plentiful.
Yet the demons continued to torment him, no longer protected by the guardian angel who had been spirited away as soon as her family found out who Jeff Diamond was and where he had come from. Suddenly the ambitious businessman and philanthropist found himself in the fight of his life.
He would win Lynn’s heart by showing her father he was worthy, and by convincing his dream girl that they had something worth fighting for. Would she risk throwing her privileged lifestyle away for a man whose public persona depended on alcohol, drugs and a string of pretty girls?
Jeff had nothing to lose. The trappings of his new life held little significance until the soul-mates were reunited. This was where their life singular really began. Up until this point, there had only been playtime. Now they must step up and take responsibility.
It was up to them.
5* Reviews - What a ride it has been so far!
"So finally I have found time to read book three in this epic series, and what a ride it has been so far! To recap, in book one Jeff lost his wife in a shooting and his perfect world fell apart. He was convinced he could feel his wife’s presence around him and his children as the murder trial was under way, and this made the process even more intense for him. In book two Jeff is feeling sentimental as he writes his autobiography. We get to see how young songwriter Jeff, met tennis player / pop star Lynn and began an unlikely romance. Book two acted as a prequel to book one.
Book three follows in the vein of book two in that it again explores Jeff and Lynn’s past, this time in even more detail. We find out more about the adversity the couple faced, the complications that arose from being in the spotlight, their secrets and so on. Again Pestell has demonstrated her sheer mastery of characterisation and emotional complexity. In Jeff and Lynn she has forged a couple so strong, I feel kind of mad she killed Lynn off in book one!

About the author

Lorraine Pestell was born in London and has lived and worked as an IT professional all over the world, including the UK, several European capitals, the USA and Singapore, before moving to Australia for the turn of the millennium. Having suffered from chronic clinical depression since childhood, and later diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after a violent marriage and other challenging events, she turned to creative writing as therapy and to escape from the world.
A passionate advocate for mental health awareness and rational suicide, Lorraine has two main goals for her writing: first, to inspire fellow sufferers to rise above their symptoms and make a success of their lives; and second, to encourage non-sufferers to tolerate, support and even love those afflicted with mental illness in their quest to live a "normal" life.
The 7-part contemporary fiction series, "A Life Singular", is truly Lorraine's life's work, starting out as an adolescent romance in her early teens. It has since become an epic saga exploring the human mind and social justice, wrapped in the universal theme of love and our endless fascination for celebrity.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2014I read the first two books in this series and was more than eager to find out what would happen next. Book 3 definitely does not disappoint.
In the first book, the author manages to show us that Jeff and Lynn were soulmates.
Looking back, I see that this was no small feat for the author as the reader really did not know that much about the couple in the beginning of the first book.
In this book, the story in the first book and second book meshes very smoothly with this one and all the dots continue to connect. This is not just a story of the past being retold but one also sees the life of the storyteller himself as he works hard to move forward in life and also keep his beloved wife’s memory alive.
I really have liked this series a lot and recommend it.
