About this ebook
Welcome to the 12th book in the "Prolific Writing for Everyone Series", titled, "Writer's Library of Ideas, Stories and Inspiration". A library is an empire of minds old and new, that goes down the ages, filled with stories of power, growth and rejuvenation, an elixir for human minds and souls. I worked in two libraries for over eleven years and it was a wonderful experience.
Working in a library is a thrilling experience. Every row of cupboards and shelves, is a portal to new worlds filled with knowledge, just waiting for readers to enjoy. Yet, today, so many libraries have been shut down due to lack of funds. Those libraries that survive stay open due to the generosity of their patrons who also happen to be readers, writers and general lovers of books, periodicals and research manuscripts and documents. Research libraries are great storehouses of old and rare documents, that allow scholars to browse and learn from old rare collections of books and manuscripts. Let us not forget all the libraries that have existed and those which presently exist worldwide providing knowledge, service and books for readers to enjoy.
I feel that as long as there are writers, researchers and scholars who are always looking for books online and offline the concept of libraries will exist. We may be familiar with brick-and-mortar libraries, with printed books, but we are now more familiar with book collections online. Accessing books and documents online is now easier than before, with so much information available from a desktop or laptop. We now add AI to this mix and we have access to even more information with sources, that we can use for our work as writers.
This book is a writer's library of concepts, stories and inspiration to help aspiring and veteran writers find a rich collection of ideas, that range from nature, to muses, to doorways between worlds, to wisdom, dragon wars, shogun, samurai, AI, prophecies, science fiction, life coaching, humour, and so much more.
The best way to read this book is to dip into it and choose those ideas that speak to you. Every idea is a seed to a literary piece that you can create, form and give life to with your blend of magic and creativity. Use the literary sparks present in this book, to create your net collection of writings, as well as to open up the doorways to so many libraries of ideas that lie in wait for you within your subconscious mind. Take the opportunity to step into this library and to start creating new stories, articles and poems, for your readers to enjoy.
Always remember that you are a human library filled with your experiences, skills, knowledge and emotions, that have shaped your life and which influence the world to a great degree.

Is the Road We Choose, the Right One for Us?
There are a hundred roads,
There are a hundred destinations for us.
Yet, we all seem to choose one road in life.
We walk on that road, never changing our course.
We keep walking on that pathway in life,
Though the seasons may change,
Though the world around us changes over time.
Why do we keep walking one path in life?
Do we not know that we can change the path we have taken?
Perhaps we are too tired to change our paths.
We prefer walking in the old and familiar way.
We prefer seeing the old familiar faces and places.
We are creatures of habit and we love the old walkways in life.
Secretly, we do not like things to change in life.
We like the comfort of the familiar, the commonplace.
Over time we feel that this old path, the well-worn one,
It is the only path that we must walk in life.
The road that we choose to walk in life for love and happiness,
Is that the right one that we have chosen?
Imagine that you have walked a hundred paths in your life.
Every path leads you to a different destination.
Every destination is better than the last one you walked.
How do you feel at every destination you have reached?
Perhaps, you feel more satisfied and happier.
Remember, that every path you walk will also have its challenges.
Every new road will have its fair share of obstacles in life.
Every pathway that you walk in life changes you.
Just as the road keeps changing over time, so do you.
You are transformed by the path that you have chosen,
As much as you have influenced the vibrations of that path.
The walker is always transforming the world that he walks in.
The world is continuously being changed by the walkers and their lives.
Have you chosen to walk the right path in life?
If you are happy on this road, then you are definitely,
Walking on the pathway that you were created to walk on.
Poet’s Note: The poem by Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken
, has inspired this prose poem
Writing Prompt: How many roads were open to you and how did you decide to choose the right one for you?
The Annoying Call of the Crow every morning, night and day. What was its message?
There was a crow that would always make an annoying noise,
Just outside Jack’s window every morning, night and day.
Why did that crow make such a horrendous sound,
Even when there was no one and nothing else around.
Perhaps that crow was making a noise for a reason,
It always crowed through summer, autumn, and every season.
Was the sound of the crow making a terrible noise,
Could it be some evil omen for Jack, his wife, and his boys?
Over the days, the months, and the years Jack finally knew,
That the black crow was evil and that knowledge grew.
He saw an accident on the television one day,
He watched the black crow swoop to the scene and fly away.
Whenever Jack saw everything going wrong in his life,
Like the day when he lost his sons and his wife,
He heard and saw that dreaded black crow on his gate.
He went out and snuffed it out before it was too late.
Today, Jack sits in a terrible state in a padded cell.
He watches blackbirds and crows fly in and out of hell.
Jack cannot sleep in this nightmare that does not end.
He lost his mind, his career, his family, and every friend.
Writing Prompt: Which bird is of special significance for you?
Top Secret- For Your Eyes Only- How to get your Readers hooked?
We are trying to get readers to read our work. However, in most instances, we fail. Is there a secret method that you can learn to get your followers to read and share your work? There must be because there are so many writers who have a large following of readers and so receive a lot of income from their work.
Here are the ways to get more readers to read your work:
Write from the Heart: If you write passionately from the heart about something that you are interested in, then your readers will also feel that in your work.
What interests your readers? It is always good to know exactly what your readers want to read. Once you know what interests your readers, you will be able to provide them with just that information.
Provide Solutions: Everyone has something that they need to solve in life, from fixing the kitchen sink to creating a good story or a great character for a story. As a writer, you need to provide your readers with solutions, depending on the niche. If you are writing about carpentry, then provide our reader with solutions to their problems. If you write about event planning, then offer a solution to common problems. If you are a fiction writer, then present a major problem, for the character of your novel or story and then resolve the conflict of the story, with a great solution that will leave your audience wanting to read more of your work.
Titles: A great title, with the right powerful words for your article, story, or novel will hook the readers.
Cover and illustrations: A great cover, with just the right image to illustrate the story, will attract the reader.
First Chapter: The first chapter and the first paragraph of your novel, story, or article, will grip the reader, making your novel a page-turner.
Make Your Writing Magnetic: Infuse your writing with emotion, colour, and passion. Give your characters great personalities, that should be believable and yet filled with power. The reader does not want to read about perfect people, but heroes with faults and failings.
Finally, we as writers, if we want to be successful financially, need to keep in mind, that we are writing our literary pieces, to entertain, serve, and educate our readers, with solutions to common issues faced in life. If a reader requires escapism, then you as a writer need to provide it. If a reader needs thrills, action, romance, and adventure, then you as a writer need to write a story that serves all those elements to the reader.
Writing Prompt: Write a story with a great hook, let it end with a closed door, with lights flashing on the other side.
Short Fiction
The Sweet Smell of Roses Filled Every Room in That Old House
It was a ghost house on the hill. There was always the smell of roses that pervaded the whole neighbourhood. Geraldine grew up near the house. As a child, she and her friends just pressed the doorbell of the haunted house, every Halloween. Now, as a teenager, she was bolder. She crept into the house and followed the scent of roses. It led to the basement.
A mound of earth with several roses blooming was at the centre of the darkroom. A few rays of sunshine filtered through the broken window and sustained the rose bushes, beneath which someone lay buried.
Writing Prompt: Write a story about an abandoned house.
The Hermit on the Hill Who Broke the Time and Dimension Barrier
He was tired of the world; he did not want to see anyone. He had developed so many bad habits, in his life, that he could have written a bestselling memoir about his experiences.
He walked up the mountain and sat in a cave. He crossed the boundaries of time and space as an astral hermit. One fine day he walked out of the cave to the sunlight. He greeted the people, but no one could see him. The hermit’s body was found buried in the earth a decade earlier. The Hermit was living in the spirit dimension for a decade.
Writing Prompt: Write a short story about a hermit.
The Dirty Food Plate was also the Poisoned Food Plate
There were piles of dirty food plates on the floor. The meal had been served to twenty-four people at the large social gathering. At the end of the meal, the banker was dead, with his head on his plate.
The Banker’s wife emptied the bank accounts of her late husband and her lover who lay motionless in bed. She took a vial of poison from her bag, went to the toilet, crushed it, and cut her finger. The detective and his dog kept sniffing the dirty food plates. Would the killer ever be found or would she get away?
Writing Prompt: Write a story about a dish of poisoned food.
The Four Walls of the Home and the Walls of Our Imagination
We are born within the walls of the protective womb.
We are nurtured, as we grow and develop to face the world.
That space is all that we know as we enter the human world.
Our minds are limited to the world that is so familiar.
Are we ever free from the confines of human existence?
Our minds, our hearts, and our humanity show its dominance.
The four walls of the home protect us as we grow,
We look outside and we want to receive so much more.
We feel that we have so much more to give freely,
We know that we are ready to step out into the world to live.
Break the walls of old stones and bricks of our imagination.
It is only then we can fly to the stars and celebrate in jubilation.
At school, we are limited to the four walls of the classroom.
Within the security of those walls, we learn about the world.
We discover our purpose in this world to live and to work.
Education, intelligence, and certification are the final perk.
The walls of our minds will crumble when they cannot contain old ideas.
Limiting minds are fostered with worn-out ideals, hopes, and fears.
Armed with knowledge and all the skills we need in the job,
We apply to firms, organizations, and companies to get the job.
Within the four walls of these generators of money, we work,
Taking home to salary to pay our bills, for our food and clothes is the perk.
The walls of our existence eventually turn to shadows and dust.
The strength of our minds, our souls, and our imagination we must trust.
As writers, we are still confined in the walls of our imagination.
We wish we could travel to every country, island, and hill station.
We need to move out of the walls of the limited imagination,
To enter the worlds of infinite possibilities, products of our creation.
A writer who can see the walls of his or her mind and its confinement,
Can break the chains, and shatter the walls to discover pure thoughts and refinement.
Writing Prompt: Write a story
