Such is the life of being Captain Masculine, Big City’s greatest superhero. This is the existence I was destined for, and I will gladly defend this city against every threat to its people.

Not All Himbos Wear Capes is an MM romance between a superhero and a villain. Our men find other men in tight supersuits incredibly attractive. Okay. This book had NO RIGHT to be this hot!!!!! Lord have mercy. I honestly was not expecting that but what a pleasant surprise it was. Xan and Butch will forever own a piece of my soul. I put this off for so long because of the superhero theme but that was the stupidest thing I could have done because this was perfect. Do yourself a favor. If you're skeptical just read the first 2 chapters. You will be hooked. Also, the audiobook was beyond phenomenal.     This was such a delightful morsel of yummy I don’t know quite where to begin.

    It’s quirky, naughty, and way too cute for words. Because even with all the supernaturals fighting (and occasionally murdering), and all the lightweight kink going on, it’s mostly an adorable story of enemies falling in love. In the most unlikely and over-the-top way possible.

    And I freakin’ love it.

    Not All Himbos Wear Capes is an enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract, villain-nails-a-hero-yes-in-the-fun-way kind of story.

    And it’s to die for.

    Synopsis: Xander is a villain. He’s grumpy as all get out and he’s particularly annoyed by Captain Masculine, the city’s superhero who keeps disturbing his plans and his work. But Masculine is hot A.F. in Lycra though, so there's that at least.
    Butch is the golden boy of Big City, but being a superhero is tiring, and constantly putting everybody else’s wishes and wants before his own might be the hero way but he just wants a break.
    Enter Bangers, the perfect hook-up app for normies. No better way to blow off steam, right? Neither Xander or Butch expected to meet the perfect guy – too bad that supernaturals and normies aren’t allowed to be together…

    I fell in love with these guys. That’s the only way to describe it. (Alright, I might have fallen harder for Xander, but you will too if you give this story a shot).
    The way they were together was perfection. I believed their instant attraction. I felt how they clicked and found someone they could actually be themselves with.

    The story is written as dual POV, and alternating between each of their perspectives, and with neither of them knowing the real identity of the other, it was bloody amazing. I’m in awe of how Rochelle managed to create such a perfect couple and make their mutual obsession feel completely organic and natural.

    Also, there’s lots of spice in this book. And I can’t say I’m that keen on either the D/s tendencies, the use of the word Daddy, or the one-time-only boot-licking. But the amazing part is that it was still incredibly hot because Rochelle managed to convey how incredibly hot Xan and Butch were for each other. And that pretty much sums up this entire story. Rochelle really made me feel these guys.

    Xander and Butch need to overcome a whole lot of obstacles on their road to their happily ever after. Besides the minor detail of them both thinking they’re dating a normie, there’s the issue of Xander’s unhinged, villainous family, Butch’s parents set on marrying him off to a suitable heroine, and Butch’s life-time contract of service to the city. Meaning there’s not a dull moment to this story.

    That being said. It’s not a book for everyone. Not counting the man-on-man aspect of the story, it is in fact a completely ridiculous (read wonderful) universe with superheroes and villains left and right, each wielding a different paranormal power. So you need humour and an open mind to appreciate this silly and beautiful story.

    This is easily 5 stars. Not in the profound, soon-to-be a Nobel Prize winner kind of way, but in how happy it made me feel.

    Highly recommend.

    And of course I’ve already pre-ordered the next in the series. The story of Xander’s crazy brother Wolfgang. Too bad it’s not estimated to be released until September.

    This book is so much fun. The perfect balance of obsessive love and romance, superhero-y action, and some of the spiciest smut you’ll read.

    I think one of my favorite parts about this is how, if you strip back all the action and ‘extra’ stuff going on, you still have a really sweet (and filthy) romance at the center of it all to kinda bring it all home. They’re fated mates so there’s definitely an instant connection, but it doesn’t necessarily read like instalove. Their connection is believable and you can see how they work together basically right away.

    Their dynamic is a LOT of fun. Butch is an absolute beefcake of a (younger) man, and he loves to be a good boy for Xander. The mix of mild degradation with praise really works, and both MCs love it. If you’re worried about the degradation warning, I would honestly say there’s not much to worry about (unless it’s a trigger for you), because there’s so much pure affection behind it.

    I think I’ve mentioned this previously as well after reading the second book, but the humor is top notch. It’s so on the nose sometimes, especially with the funny hero/villain/character names, that it makes me chuckle every single time. It’s sorta cheesy, but only in the best way. Gentlemen Prefer Villains is still my favorite, but there’s no doubt that this is also a solid 5 stars. Hats off to the author for building this fun universe with lots of smut, and still managing to center it all around a good romance.

    Before the story even begins, the fun warnings and advisement about content at the forefront of the book already set the mood, good and bad are more grey tones than clear-cut ideals, capes aren't necessary but special suits are, and superpowers can be manipulated by politics and greed.
    Dark up to a certain point, sweet with hearts and surprising feelings, spicy with a bit of kink, fun to read for any Marvel or DC aficionado.

    Now I don't normally read m/m if it's not in a series I'm already reading, but as I'm a fan of the author and her style I said why not?! Holy smokes, this is funny, cute, hot and a whole other load of positive words I'd be here forever typing!

    Butch and Xander are from such different backgrounds and have obstacles to over come that you can't help but to cheer them on. The way they interact, the funny moments and growth of both characters is so endearing you are laughing and smiling for most of the book. A must read.

    This story (as the inside info tells us) is definitely more along the lines of The Boys and not your typical hero story.

    That being said, I think the violence and mayhem of this story not only makes sense but lends a bit more character to both Butch and Xander.

    The world building in this novel, while not fully developed or explained, is interesting and lends itself to more of the intricacies being developed more in the rest of the series. The hints and bits of the past that are given in this novel are enough to sustain the plot and keep the reader intrigued while also allowing them to understand the world more as the story unfolds without a lot of exposition dumping.

    Overall this was a great start to a series and I look forward to more characters getting their fated mates (a rare combo for a super hero series as well and an interesting take). I hope we get to see more of our adorable Himbo and his grumpy love in upcoming instalments.
