    This was a fast paced book with action throughout. Going here, killing vampires there, they went all over. The characters were interesting and I enjoyed the book. I recommend it.

    I'm glad the author has added that this was previously released, though I'd prefer to see it up top, rather than at the bottom of the blurb. As promised, I have upped my rating to 4 stars, as I like the story. Still not sure what's going on about changing a few sentences and re-releasing it under a new series name.

    I’d give this a one star, but upped it to two stars, as I love the book. Well, kinda. This appears to be a rewrite of a book by the same author, with the same title, but under a different series name. That series is “The Voodoo Dolls” series. I liked that book, and the two sequels. But changing a few sentences, and sentence order, and changing the series name, WITHOUT telling us it’s a rewrite of one of your previous books, is very deceptive and unethical. Hence the low score.

    I’m baffled, as when I checked on J. L. Hendrick’s website, The Voodoo Dolls series is still listed on there, but there is no mention of this series, New Orleans Magic.

    If a disclaimer is added warning readers they’re buying an almost identical book (I looked through the sample and found a few minor changes of deleted sentences and reordered sentences, but no new sentences/words), I’ll upgrade my rating, at least a little bit. I’m also waiting for an explanation from the author on her deception.

    BTW, the next two books in this series appear to also be slight rewrites of the previous books with those names by this author, just changing the series name.

    If you haven’t read the previous books, I recommend the story. I enjoyed them. But trying to rip me off for more money by re-ordering a few sentences is making me re-think buying any more books from this author.
