Publisher Description

A high fantasy with a neurodivergent main character.
When angels initiate a war, humans on Apkallu die.

Deprived of human worshipping, angels resort to burning human souls to sustain themselves, when the ancient Qal of an assassinated archangel wakes up on Earth inside a human, disturbing the precarious peace.
Holding the key to all three realms, the allegiance of this archangel will mean eternal dominance in a game on a global scale.

Thrown into a battle of courts, tangled in a web of intrigues and palatial games, naïve Ariel is surrounded by powerful factions, chasing their own agendas. There's no one she can trust; everyone stands to gain something from her death.

In the "CELESTIAL CREATURES" series you will find immersive world-building, Sumerian language and religion, re-imagined Christian mythology, new blood-thirsty creatures, plenty of sword fighting, the final grand battle and high-octane adventure throughout.

Addictive book with a fantastic and vivid world-building! I would definitely continue with this series. I need to know what happens next! Well written, well planned out. Reminded me a little of Hush, Hush, so if you like things like that then you should definitely check this out. (Book blogger).

Olga Gibbs has a talent for world-building. From the school yard to the heavenly architecture and natural surroundings, her settings and imagery are so vivid and cater to all five senses; it would be hard to tire from her rich descriptions. (Book blogger).

It's fantastically written using highly descriptive language throughout allowing me to feel like I was transported into the story - I could almost smell and feel what the characters are experiencing. (Book blogger)

From the first chapter I found this book scarily addicting. I just wanted more. I was consumed and intrigued. I didn't know where it was going or what was going to happen and was pleasantly surprised. (Book blogger).

“The premise of this was interesting, but the execution was a bit lacking for me. There were good scenes scattered throughout the book, however the pacing was too fast, and I got lost in the descriptions trying to find more substance. I constantly had to go back and re-read sections because I couldn't follow what was going on. I might try continuing the series to see if it gets better, but the sample chapter of book two doesn't give me much hope. I did like the interactions between Ariel and Tabby.”
“Before I start, I have to say just how beautiful the cover is! I absolutely love it and would most definitely pick this us in a book shop…..that sparkly purple hair!! The story is told by our protagonist, Ariel. She’s a teenager with an extremely troubled and horrific past who thinks she is a normal girl. But with three new arrivals in school, her world changes dramatically. She’s finds out angel’s are real……and that she has unbelievable powers. We’re taken on her journey of discovery through some pretty awful scenes but some amazingly beautiful ones too…..and there is the required bit of romance! Some parts of the book are quite dark but this just adds to the story. The way Gibbs provides us with descriptions is fantastic and really gives us a good image of what we should be picturing in our minds – I kind of want to visit some of these places! I found Ariel quite annoying at first but once you begin to learn what she’s been through it’s understandable. There are some really adorable characters (I love Tabby!) and some absolutely gorgeous characters from what I can imagine. I would love to see what Rafe and Sam look like!! Gibbs covers the areas of mental health and abuse well which is always a tough thing to do, and it really does help the reader to find some empathy for Ariel. There were a couple of sections where I guessed what might happen next but I wasn’t sure…. which kept me intrigued. As I read through it, I found it more and more exciting and just didn’t want to put it down! The ending is great and leaves it open for the next instalment, which I can not wait to read! This book is definitely recommended by me…….Bring on Hallow!!”
“Heavenward is the first book in the Celestial Creatures series. In this book, we meet Ariel - she is 14-15 years old living in the UK, currently living in care. She goes to school, comes home and keeps her head down and keeps out of trouble as much as she can. But today isn't like a usual school day - there are three new students at the school, Mia, Sam and Rafe. All of them seem to have an interest in Ariel, and won't leave her alone. But after one of them, Mia, tries to kill Ariel in their science class, Ariel realises that her life isn't going to be the same again. The Celestial Creatures series focuses on angels, which I thought was a really refreshing change after reading lots of books on vampires and werewolves over the years. Olga has created an intriguing world with lots of history and lore, and I found that quite interesting and look forward to learning more about this. It's also set in the UK, which again, is also a nice change as often these books are American with American teens. I thought that alll of the dialogue and most of her school experience matched my own experience (though I of course didn't enjoy quite so much drama!). At first, I didn't trust Mia, Sam OR Rafe (or anyone, really - they all seem to have their own agenda!). As the book progressed, I began to like Rafe a lot more. Sam seems quite arrogant and not very likeable to me - I can't see the appeal. Ariel herself is angry - she is always mad with someone or about something. As we learn more about her past, it starts to make more sense. However, she is quite immature - angry and shouting one minute, then fine the next. I didn't understand why she was so quick to trust Sam, but none of the other characters (poor Rafe). This is the first in the series so quite slow moving in parts, as it introduces the story and the world, but it kept me interested. I'm looking forward to reading the next books in the series and seeing what happens next.”
“This book will take you on a journey to another realm! You’lol get to escape your every day life and become a part of the angels! I absolutely LOVED this book! It’s so exciting and fast paced, full of action and very creative! I really feel for the main character Ariel as she’s had such a hard life and has such a huge change, she has ALOT to take in! Apart from how action packed this book is my favourite thing about it is the authors writing, the attention to detail and the scene setting and descriptions are just MAGNIFICENT! I already can’t wait to start book number 2!”
