The story whilst overall is the same thing seen in most comic books, yet goes into more depth of characters. Yet has a standalone charm where the characters all feel like they fit in this world. But the main reason I would recommend this and Kingdom Come, is the artwork...Alex Ross has a grip on lighting ive not seen anywhere else and this entire romp is renderd this way...from the very first panel to the very last the end...absoloutly stunning.

Stunning visuals and intricate character development. Each hero's nemesis is presented as a counterfoil to serve as the yin/yang principle in life. one cannot coexist without the other and so life perpetuates itself; good vs evil. I thoroughly enjoyed this book in its 12 series production. In my estimation, it's a classic.

Just Wow! Possibly the best comic I've experienced. (saying 'read' would not do justice to this art work)
About the author
Jim Krueger was a creative director at Marvel Comics and later became a freelance comic book writer/property creator. His original works include The Foot Soldiers, Alphabet Supes, The Clock Maker and The Last Straw Man. Other comic book writing includes the award-winning Earth X trilogy with Alex Ross for Marvel Comics, as well as Avengers, X-Men, Star Wars, The Matrix Comics, Micronauts, Galactic and BATMAN.
