As a respected cancer specialist, Paul Webster knows what he's doing. At least, he does at work. His home life's another story.
Now he's been thrown into a spin by a patient's death and her unshakeable confidence in life beyond the grave.
He’s always dismissed Christians as simplistic fools but this woman didn't fit his stereotype. What if there is truth beyond what he can learn with lab tests and logic? And what will checking out that truth cost him?

Grace Beneath the Frost is a soul-stirring contemporary Christian novel. Book 5 in the Grace series.

Grace beneath the frost shows how God cares about every area of our lives. He is patient with us and wants to give us the tools and ability to not only know Him but to love those around us better. I loved the ending.

The spotlight in this book shines on Esther’s oncologist, who embarks on an incredible journey from doubt to faith. It's profound while remaining incredibly relatable. I genuinely enjoy this series and highly recommend it to anyone in search of thoughtful and engaging reads.

I was thrilled to see that the doctor was given such thoughtful attention; Dillon masterfully creates that warm, connected atmosphere while delving into genuine spiritual exploration. Whether you're at the beginning of your spiritual path or well along your way, the insights throughout are truly profound.

Dillon's writing stands out because she tackles themes like pride, forgiveness, and redemption with finesse, avoiding any preachiness. The story is filled with powerful moments that linger in your mind, artfully balancing truth and grace.

This is the 5th book in the series, and I have read and loved them all. Ms. Dillon has a wonderful way of leading the reader through the steps to understanding the Bible and Christianity in ways that open the world to us. This story helps to lead the main character Paul through the steps of learning to pray. I highly recommend these fictional stories to anyone who is yearning to learn more about following Jesus. I just purchased and am about to begin the 6th and final book in the Grace series.

Christine Dillon’s fifth book in the “Grace” series is another work of wonder.

Like her previous novels, this one continues to tackle the difficult themes of selfishness and pride; forgiveness and reconciliation; grace and redemption.

I found it particularly easy to relate to the main character, a 50-something year old bloke who thought he had it all: great career, great wife, great kids. Little does he realise that these are all gracious gifts from a generous God. Gifts to be treasured and nurtured, and not to be taken for granted.

As with Christine’s other books in this series, ‘Grace Beneath the Frost’ can be read as a self-contained, stand-alone story. Earlier references to characters and events don’t require any prior knowledge or an in-depth understanding of what’s gone before.

Yet, all five stories intertwine and overlap so seamlessly that it would be a shame not to enjoy the many complex characters Christine has so carefully brought to life throughout the series.

Characters who enjoy love but endure loss; who suffer pain yet pray patiently: who rejoice gladly for all the good things God has given them, in spite of their myriad flaws and failings.

And, if there’s one common theme that runs straight and true through all her books like a vein of precious gold, it’s grace. Grace so abundant it’s overwhelming.

Grace enough to melt the coldest heart.

Christine’s books are a wonderful encouragement to followers of Christ, especially in this novel which looks closely at discipleship and how we equip, model, and mentor younger Christians.

Yet it also poses a gentle challenge to non-believers: to look carefully at the person of Jesus Christ and thoughtfully consider his life-changing claims.

As with her last four novels, this one left me wanting more: more of her insightful and heart-warming characters; and much, much more of her God - our faithful God - who hears and answers prayer.

Another keeper is this book, fifth in the Grace Series. Sometimes I forget that I'm not reading a new Bible translation and it's a fictional writing.

I find myself taking notes and learning some good lessons.

Thank you Christine another valuable book!!!

Dr Paul Webster first appears in the beginning of this series as Esther's oncologist. He's a bit of an agnostic and definitely a workaholic with a goal of being the best. Esther Macdonald prays and witnesses to him, but is unsuccessful. Book five of the Grace series is about his journey to Jesus.

This is the fourth look in this series that I've read. I liked it the best. There was more story and less inner contemplation, although there was still plenty. The author's theology comes through but in this book it is basic Christianity. Some of the other books in the series touch on subjects that could be controversial. But this book is filled with a skeptic's search for God. Good story that doesn't leave everything tied up with a neat bow.

This series seems to get better with every book. It’s a book that has challenged me and given me a lot to think about. This is a story of hope and the power of prayer to bring about change.

Christine Dillon has done it again. She has given us the gospel in story form and what a beautifully written one it was. I started this series with the first book "Grace in Strange Disguise", and have been blessed with each book I have read including this one now. She has given us a wonderful reminder of how we too should pray for each other. Thank you for writing these stories.

Christine Dillon has a wonderful way of making characters realistic and interesting. This is primarily a story of God's work in people's lives - his love story - but also cleverly shows the changes in the relationships in the book.

I enjoyed this unusual book. It explored the possibility of family restoration when all seemed lost. This book continues to show the outcome of Esther’s sharing Gods love in the last days of her life. (Book 1-2) At times this read was heavy but I had to follow to see what God would do. Real challenging Christian fiction. Great book.

What do you do when your work life is going really well but your personal life stinks? This book guides you through the heartache and traumas of a very real situation.
The characters are believable and likeable and so realistic.
The main character, Paul, is challenged to re-evaluate his whole life, behaviour and everything he's believed.
Bible truths are revealed in such an engaging way that the reader is captivated and enticed to want to know more, but the book is not preachy or moralistic - it's so appropriate for today.
Wonderful book! I've only just finished it but I'm already planning to read it again!

I read this book some time ago and really enjoyed this story about Paul, a man we briefly met in Grace in Strange Disguise. This is a stand alone book, although will be made much richer if you know the other characters from previous books ( especially Paul's former patient Esther McDonald).
Dillon's writing keeps getting better - this book contains many spiritual truths and disciplines that would benefit any reader to explore in more details. These books are wonderful for their relatability and realness, not fake romance or pseudo-happy families. I love that Dillon doesn't sugarcoat the Christian life ( it's not all wine and roses if you follow Jesus) but portrays the search for truth and also the reality of living out the Christian life amidst the pain and discord in our world.
You won't be disappointed to read any of her 'Grace' series.
