    Had I not met Brooks in the earlier story, I’m not sure how much of his oozing obnoxious hedonism I could take, but knowing his loyalty to Zack let me hang in long enough to get invested in Sydnee and the orphanage. Brooks is so over the top it is a riot! Great clean romance with a little mystery and suspense.

He has a lot of hurt to overcome and she misunderstands his intentions over and over again. The book contains serious themes of abandonment, human trafficking, and the plight of orphans. Brooks character was way over the top, but he becomes more likeable as the story progresses. Can Brooks and Sydnee Lee find a way to bridge their two very different worlds to build a lasting permanent relationship?

    Wow! Who knew there was so much depth to Brooks? He just seemed like the light hearted friend to Sack Tyndale but what a character he is. He is so amazing with his little narcissistic facade. Again I did not want the book to end. I also enjoyed catching up with Zach and Maddie. I love the series.

    I wanted to like Brooks but just too smarmy for me. I get he had issues, but it wasn't enough of an excuse for his behavior for me to really like him. And the end wrapped up too quickly as well. If he has such serious problems dealing with children (not a spoiler; mentioned in the first chapter), real psychological issues that stemmed from childhood, he wouldn't have changed so rapidly. And way too ​much obsessing about each other's looks.

    I loved everything about this story. The chemistry between Brooks and Sydnee was so evident. The orphanage and the children were such a sweet spot of the story too. It was nice to think about an orphanage with loving care givers. Brooks had a lot to overcome in his life and his fears were understandable. The rest of the characters were complimentary to the story too. It's was a great purchase.
