    Your head is where your brain and mind are.

    Fun Fact: Your eyes are connected directly to your brain!

    Fun Fact: At the back of your brain is an area called the FFA - Fusiform Frontal Area or Gyrus that helps you recognize and remember people’s faces.

    Fun Fact: Not all animals can see all the colors we see! It’s called a spectrum; many ani- mals see only black and white or a few shades of color.

    6 Your eyes are for sensory information.

    There are two types of signals: Sensory: in- coming signals into the body and Motor: the opposite like when you move your head or say hello with your voice.

    This is where the word SENSE comes from

    and you have five senses:

    Eye - SIGHT Ears - HEARING

    Tongue - TASTING Skin - FEELING Nose - SMELLING

    Sometimes, people wear glasses for reading or for other problems of the eyes like: Short-sightedness

    Long-Sightedness Astigmatism Photo-sensitivity

    Which are all correctable with lenses

    and glasses. 7

    Other eye disorders especially in adults and the elderly include:

    Cataract Glaucoma

    Macular Degeneration

    Which may need eye surgery.

    Fun Fact: The black circle in the center of your eye lets doctors know if you are still alive or not. It is called the PUPIL and it reacts to light and darkness (constriction and dilation).
