- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2016This was a short and fun book, perfect for an afternoon read. Like zombies? Like suspense? Want a theme of true friendship? This book has it all. An entertain zombie thriller with some twists and turns. Go on grab it, you won't be sorry. After all, who doesn't love a good zombie apocalypse story?
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2023I was impressed with how much Dawn Brower was able to pack into this novella. Entirely from Sin’s perspective I enjoyed the action, horror, and suspense.
While the premise is similar to all infection leads to zombies – it allows her more time to develop compelling characters and the nefarious human element. Purely in friendship, Sin is protecting his childhood friend and scientist, Lucy. He shields her while she works for a cure.
The ending is quick but satisfying. Short but fully developed listen.
Narration:
This was my first narration by Will Tulin. I enjoyed the depth he brought to the performance by giving characters unique voices and bringing the emotion and tension of Brower’s writing to life.
Note: I didn't realize it until I submitted my Audible review - but it seems I received this audiobook for free at some point. This is my honest review.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2020This is quite the action packed story for it being so short. I was riveted to my headphones as I listened to this play out. I wasn’t sure which way it would go until the end.
I listened to this on audio. Wil Tulin is a new to me narrator. He has a lovey voice and did a wonderful job.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2023I enjoyed this book. I love The Walking Dead and a couple zombie movies, but apart from one series, I don't read too many zombie books. So the chance to listen to a zombie audiobook was something I was very interested in, and this was my first from this author. I liked the characters. I liked seeing things from Sin's eyes, and the bond between him and Lucy. The storyline was good, but it felt like I was reading a book in a series when I began in that I felt like I should have known these characters and situation when the story started. I wasn't lost or confused. Just felt like I missed something.
I listened to this audiobook narrated by Will Tulin. He did a good job with the different characters' voices.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2021It was a short fun listen filled with excitement, danger and a mad man. Two best friends one working on away to heal the undead and another trying his best to keep her safe. I thought the ending was undone leaving you hanging to the outcome of one of their friends. Not knowing if the meds worked or not. Beside that it was a great listen. It has a little bit of everything, this is a short of love and romance but a story of the unknown and how to keep people alive. A wonderful friendship that has always been and trying to stay alive.
The narrator was ok there were a few places that need some editing, her character voice were nice there were a couple I didn't care for. She does give emotion, there are a few repeating of words, no background noise, no volume changes.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2015This ARC was given to me for my honest opinion.
This is a stand alone short story.
I already knew Dawn from some of her other books and loved her, so when i started reading this book i was in for a surprise. This was so much different from what i was used too from Dawn.
Great Story, Great Characters, Great plot.
It was a great thriller ride but for me, but i just wanted so much more. I felt that the story could of went deeper and way longer. I would of loved this book, with a little more meat on it, but it was a really good short read just the same.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2015This short story was fun, full of action, & fast moving! But beware the zombies are on their way!!! I really enjoyed the story and the fast pace it moved from beginning to end. It was hard to put down and keeps you on the edge guessing what's next! Will she find a cure or are we all in danger?
