Forbidden Wish: Brother's Best Friend Romance (Forbidden Novels Book 2) Kindle Edition
"One rule... we never breathe a word of this to your brother."
Bodies are dropping. Tortured missing women are showing up dead all over the city. No one else notices. No one else cares. This might not be my usual field of reporting, but I can’t walk away.
Word from a source leads me to Vex Manzani’s nightclub. Unbeknownst to me, “Hustle” is no ordinary club. It’s exclusive, invitation only, and the price of admission is passion.
Jagger Dunn shows up to save me.
To back me up.
To arouse me.
The kissing was necessary. The touching good cover. But, damn, did I have to come all over him?
My brother and his best friend freed themselves from this shady world, now I’m dragging them back into it, waking dormant demons, reviving old debts.
Jagg believes in me when others don’t.
My source is targeted, proving the danger is closing in. Someone doesn’t want the truth to get out. It’s on me.
I will succeed or die trying.
Warning: Contains explicit language and imagery. Suitable only for ages 18 and over.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2023This was a very enjoyable book! Book 3 of the Forbidden series, it can be read as a stand-alone. It does a nice job of blending together some popular tropes such brother’s best friend, age gap, touch her and d!e/ she’s not going anywhere without me , estranged family, and mafia.
Genny (Imogen) is a journalist who writes for her local paper, and who has stumbled on a possible story: women are disappearing, and there seems to be a pattern. Her investigations lead her to a secret nightclub— if only she could get in!
Jagg (Jagger) Dunn is Genny’s brother Ford’s best friend: they grew up together, they currently live and work together, and back in the day they used to street fight together for a local mafia organization. Who better to help Genny with her investigation?
What starts as reluctant cooperation and teasing turns into real collaboration and even friendship as Genny and Jagg give in to their attraction, all while getting deeper into investigating the disappearing women.
I really liked the dynamic and tension between Jagg and Genny. I also enjoyed the murder mystery / thriller type element of the disappearances and watching as the pieces were all put together.
If you’re looking for a well paced read with brother’s best friend and mafia elements, as well as a nice dose of mystery and a sprinkling of spice on the page, this is for you!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2024fun and enjoyable, started off a little slow for me but it was good
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2023Brothers best friend is always a good start, so I was looking forward to this. It also was mixed with mafia and crime, and solving a mystery.
Imogen was the fmc and Jag, her brothers best friend, was the mmc. The story centers around her trying to solve the mysteries/crimes, bring justice to those harmed and prevent it from continuing to happen! Jagg cares about her a lot and steps in to help early on, which also happen to include some spicy times between them.
I didn't feel super connected to the characters, but I think there was just so much going on with solving the crimes and I was hoping for a little more in the romance department. I enjoyed it, though!

Spice: 🌶️
Murder mystery meets Mafia meets Brother’s Best Friend…sounds like a dang good trifecta to me!
Finn brought together an interesting storyline that kept you engaged while getting to know Imogen & Jagg. It was pretty early on to see that Jagg was drawn to Genny more than because she was his bestie’s little sister. And they way he just knew her & her mind…so good.
Took me a bit to get into the style of the writing - it felt like a cross between 1st & 3rd, so be mindful of that. Don’t get too caught up by it the way I did — and just lean into it so you can enjoy!

🌶
The brother's best friend and mafia tropes made me interested in requesting this ARC. This is my first Scarlett Finn book, and I haven't read the previous books in the series, so I felt like I was missing a lot of info about Sersha and her history.
This book had an interesting mystery surrounding the murders of multiple women. Imogen is determined to discover who is responsible for their deaths. She is the only one who linked the murders together and is having a difficult time getting the police to take her seriously. The only lead she has is an exclusive sex club where one of the victims went with her boyfriend. She was only able to get in with the help of Jagger, her brother’s best friend. He had ties to the owner of the club who belonged to the mafia.
The mystery was interesting, and there were some good twists in the book. However, as a romance reader, this book was seriously lacking a love story. It had slight romantic elements, but it was mostly about the mystery. Imogen and Jagg get together immediately, and there was no connection between them. I just didn't feel any chemistry. The writing style also took me out of the story since it was told in 3rd person. It may be a me problem, though. Sometimes, it was hard to figure out who was speaking when reading a scene with multiple people. I'm used to the way historical romances are written in 3rd person, and this felt different.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2023A brothers best friend, mafia and true crime I would say jackpot right there. Imogen is a journalist who discovers that the similarities of a group of women that are murdered are linked to a rival mafia. Imogen need her brothers best friend Jagger to help her get into the club. The chemistry between them is like fireworks from start to finish. I really enjoyed that this was not your typical mafia romance read.

Brothers best friend had me from the blurb. Then throw in some mafia and mystery and it's a ride. The mystery kept me hooked although reading the two previous book would help with the characters and flow of the book.
Brothers best friend. Mystery. Mafia.
