“I really enjoyed this book, it was tense, it had tension (iykyk), and the story line was really well written. You can read this one as a standalone but having read the first 2 now I would recommend reading them in order for the back ground information. Dead Keen touches on some really dark themes, so ensure you check content warnings before reading. I found the mystery aspect in this one more thought out than book 1, and thought still fast paced it was written in a way that didn’t make it feel like it was moving so fast. The author does a really good job to bring to light psychological concerns that are so common in today’s society, while not making it feel like a plot point for story gains. I held my breath in multiple moments throughout the story and was on the edge of my seat for the showdown. I can’t wait to read book 3.”
“This is book 2 of the series but can be read as a standalone. Reading as a series would just give more in depth to the characters. Neve an Con are still figuring out their relationship together an take a trip to Ireland to help Cons sister in law. However while helping her Never an her Dr. O'Brien get themselves in a little bit of trouble. Can Con help to save Neve an his sister in law?”
“I am the biggest fan of thrillers and mystery. When I first saw this book I was like it won't be that good but I was wrong. The author Anise Eden, did an amazing in building a world of mystery and thrill that kept me reading both the 1st book and the 2nd book. O'Brien being the doctor tries to help his brother from a mysterious illness, with the help of his girlfriend Neve the therapist they come close to stopping something that can destroy people. But they uncover something far worse and it might cost their lives. When Neve uses a unique skill to uncover O'Brien's sister-in-law's sleepwalking problem they find out the lies and the plan to murder. Neve and O'Brien got themselves in a pit of trouble that can hurt a lot of people including his brother.”
“I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Dead Keen, the second book in the Things Unseen series, continues Neve and Connor's adventures. The couple left the shores of the US for Ireland. While there, they are caught in another dangerous situation involving a crazed cult leader. When Conner received a call from his brother Eamon seeking medical help for his fiancée, Ciara, he returned to Ireland for a visit. His brother's call offered the perfect opportunity for him to catch up with his family while taking a long overdue vacation with Neve. It also provides a means for escaping the residual danger from their last adventure. On their arrival and after consultation with, Ciara's medical team discovered a connection to video games and a cult. Soon, Neve and Conner found themselves in a game of cat and mouse with a crazed cult leader. Unlike the previous book, the events in Dead Keen moved at a slower pace. It took a while for the suspense to build up, but when it did, it had me on pins and needles. More of Connor's past came to light, providing insight into his personality. We also see Neve and Connor's relationship, despite there being no time for romantic moments, with danger lurking at every corner. I loved how they supported each other and their willingness to protect each other in the face of danger. Both are stubborn, which made for some interesting moments. Reading, Dead Keen, elicited the urge for a trip to Ireland. The author's descriptions made for easy visualization of the Irish countryside. Dead Keen delivered an engaging read, which will appeal to fans of thrillers. https://www.totallyaddicted2reading.com/2023/08/dead-keen-by-anis-eden.html”
