About this ebook
This third poetry book by Cindy offers a few samples from her first two books as well as from a future book. You will not find sex, violence, blood or gore, nor vampires, zombies or ghosts. You will find poems about fleeting and elusive moments captured in rhyme through the sands of time.
Cindy J. Smith
I grew up in the country of Upstate New York and now reside in the boonies of Midwestern Indiana. I am a coffee-addicted truck driver (as if there was any other kind). I have written poetry all my life. The topics and poems just come into my head. I try to write in the first person for most of them. I do this as people are more apt to relate to something when they are not feeling like they are the target. Some of my poems are true, either for me or for someone I know. I believe in magic and that life is worth living. I hope that my words will touch every reader in some way. I want everyone to open their eyes and really see what is before them.

INTRODUCTION
tmp_ccd6ad96cf1a997c93f154545f2131ac_XKQuXe_html_mc84d6dc.jpgLife is a series of moments stitched together in the fabric of time. Each of these moments is an intricate weave of memories of the past, hopes and fears for the future, and the current conditions. At times life runs a relatively smooth path, one with only a few ripples. However, in the blink of an eye, you could find yourself falling from the pinnacle of joy into a seemingly bottomless pit of gloom. Considering the seemingly whimsical nature of life, I have compiled this book of poems. The PAST is represented by poems from my first book, ‘Voices In My Head’. The PRESENT, my second book, ‘They Won't Shut Up’. Finally, the FUTURE is an assortment from my work in progress tentatively titled ‘Quiet, Please’. For the most part, the selections were randomly selected. The order in which they appear was decided by pulling the titles out of a hat--forming a unique weave
of moments. I invite you to take a glimpse at life as I see it.
DEDICATION
tmp_ccd6ad96cf1a997c93f154545f2131ac_XKQuXe_html_mc84d6dc.jpgI went to college in Pennsylvania. While there I found myself in a very dark place. I was lucky enough to have three teachers who helped me find my path. If not for them, I probably would not be here now. This book is dedicated to them.
Father Eugene Luyster (may he Rest In Peace) was a professor of English. He taught me that just because some people do not like me, it does not mean I am worthless. He said if I don't believe in myself, no one else will.
