- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2019Battlefield Love is Book 1 in the Operation Cupid series by Skylar Andra. The world building and character development are great. The storyline is unique/original and I found myself engrossed in the story and turning pages wanting to know what was coming next. Locke, FMC, is a phone sex operator whose life is turned upside down when she receives a weird phone call and men in black suits show up and try to grab her. Apparently because of the call she is now Cupid's avatar and has powers. She is so confused and has a lot of questions that need answered but Locke does not know who she can trust. I was truly surprised at how much I liked this story because of its uniqueness. It is fast paced with lots of action and some steamy scenes as well as twists you don't see coming. Am super excited to see what Skyler has in store for Locke and the other avatars in the next book. This is definitely a book/series I highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2019I really enjoyed the writing style and story in this book. Love the concept of the gods having avatars. The MC is funny, likable, tough and damaged. My only complaint is how much she runs away from everything. I understand hat it's her defense mechanism, but it really takes away from the relationship development since she spends so much time running off on her own. I'm definitely reading the next book in the series. I can't wait to meet more of the avatars.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2019I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this book after reading the blurb but I was far from disappointed. I absolutely loved this book!! So much action, suspense, love, and lust and I loved every page. I enjoy Locke as a female lead but she infuriates me a lot with her stupid and reckless decisions. I love Byron, Mads, and Rane. They all have differing personalities so it will be interesting to see how the authors pull this into a RH as the series continues. This book also has a healthy dose of Greek mythology but things are still left in the dark for the readers that I am sure will be explained as the series continues and the plot evolves. Amazing job to the authors!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2024Some of the dialogue was childish and the characters undeveloped, but this wasn’t bad. There was some humor, some heat and heart. The characters are likable if angsty. The mystery of what exactly the two groups are trying to accomplish may keep me reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019Wow this was a great read! I love that Locke is not a size 2 but still feels good in her own body! I felt connected with her throughout the story while her, Mads, Rane and Byron all pulled on my heartstrings. I love Byron and his sweet but also demanding personality. This book showed that some people show a lot mors on the outside than what is inside them. There is hearache, passion, love and anger in this book. I loved the take on the gids and cannot wait to see what comes next!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2020This book took a chapter or two for me to get ‘into’ it. It wasn’t an immediate ‘Oh yeah baby’ but rather a sneak attack. The characters each have their individual traits, and the storyline is good, though I did feel some situations weren’t explored to their fullest, while others felt a little rushed.
I do love that the author has chosen to explore the dark nature of Cupid’s powers instead of focusing on the rainbows and unicorns. Before you ask, yes I have already one clicked book 2!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2021Locke is a female who belives she is human and just a sex phone operator until she gets a strange call. After the call she has a flash of light and wakes up locked in her bathroom to wierd men in her house and one outside her window who says he is there to save her. She learns that she may be an avitar for the god cupid. This book has two sides that want her and she doesn't know who to trust.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2019I have been a Mila can for awhile now but have never tried Andra. They make a great combo I must say. We get an original twist of a young woman that works as a phone sex operator only to find her life forever changed by one weird phone call. This leads to running for her life, lots of secrets, and surprisingly the powers of cupid. A great start to a new mythological RH series. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing and full of godly goodness
It all started with a phone call... Wow, what an enjoyable ride. This book has humour and suspense that will have you reading all through the night. Locke is a sassy MC that you'll love to meet in real life and her story has only just begun. The scenes with both Rane and Byron were hot and gave you the warm fuzzies. Mads was a great character, but wish there was more of him in the story. The story kept growing in adventure, suspense and questions that you desperately wanted the answers to. If you're looking for a book with hot scenes, thrilling adventures and characters that hook you in, this is your book. The ending makes ypu want to instantly grab book two to find out more and more answers. Loved the character dynamic and how the story flowed. Will definitely pick up book 2 to find out more about Locke, her men, the gods and what all of this means for the world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
The first chapter I was hooked. Then around 4 chapters in I felt like i wasn't getting into it anymore. It sort of felt like the characters no longer had any depth and the story felt bland and uninteresting. I kept going however and I'm glad I did because it does get substantially better. I'm starting the second book now and hoping it continues to get better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Undecided
So it took me a little while to get into this book. Usually I read books of this length in 24 hours this has taken me 3. I wasn't gripped by until I was with about 10% to go I couldn't put it down. There is a part of me that is keen to find out where it goes and if the 2nd book is better but it's not enough to make me download it now, it's a series of come back to in a few weeks.
