About this ebook
The Gateways to the magical universe and worlds of writing are open to you. In this collection of stories, poems, and articles you will discover special keys to open the doorway to your creative world. I enjoy creative writing and this book is the type of book every new writer should read.
I started on the Writer's Journey at the age of seventeen, when I wrote my first poem, "The Lady of the Sea." Since that day, I have not looked back. I was introduced to the writer's path by my father, Melvyn Brown, author and storyteller.
Over the years I have read and heard the wisdom within the craft of writing. I hesitated to write fiction for fear of revealing too much about myself, my thoughts, and my ideas. It was only when I was in my 20's that I decided that it was time to stop being nervous. I needed to leap into the chasm of my creativity. I started by writing poems, I would write about five poems a day. At the end of that period, I wrote and self-published a collection of seventy-five poems.
A couple of years later, I started writing and self-publishing fiction stories and novels. I always had my blog and website, where I would put my writings.
I also happened to discover Medium, the blog publishing platform. It looked interesting to me for a while, so I wrote a few articles and forgot about it completely. It was only at the end of the last year 2020, I kept hearing about Medium once again. I was surprised to see the way in which Medium had evolved.
I re-joined Medium, at the end of last year. At the beginning of 2021, I started putting more time writing more poetry and stories on Medium. I was happy to see that my followers gradually increased. My income from my articles stayed low.
As I enjoy writing for the sake of writing, I write about subjects that appeal to me. Unlike some writers, I am not writing for particular niches so that articles can earn me more money. My intention for using Medium, is for the practice of writing, for the enjoyment of my readers, the income rewards will come in time. The profits and success will roll in once the world realizes the value of your work.
I have completed writing over 800 articles and my followers have increased from zero to 785 over the last 8 months. I also receive positive feedback from my readers which is very encouraging.
Over the last 8 months, I have created my own publications on Medium. The established publications are difficult to get into. While a number of other publications are particular about what they accept and take time to publish work. By establishing my own publications, I have given myself the freedom to publish articles immediately. The readership for my publications is not high, but I know that it will grow over time.
My articles, stories, and poems are filled with imaginative ideas on creativity and positivity. I have introduced a number of ways in which you can explore your mind. With these keys to writing, you will discover the powers of your imagination to create new, exciting and innovative ideas.
Your writing will never be the same after you have read this book from cover to cover and uncovered new ways to create unique, outstanding literary works.
I would like to welcome you to the Writer's Way, as you discover the genius mind of a writer waiting to be awakened, behind your Gates of Imagination and Creativity.
Welcome to the Writer's Way

Highway sceneA.I. and Transhumanism
Our Evolution from Man to Superman
TRANSHUMANISM IS A new way of thinking which theorizes that man can become more than just a human being with the help of technology. This use of technology goes to the extent where technology is integrated into the human body. Therefore, a man will become a combination of machines. This symbiotic union of man with technology will be the new evolved nature of man according to the philosophical movement called transhumanism.
The primary goal of Transhumanism is to move man from his position of being an ordinary human to an evolved and enhanced being. This can be achieved with the help of technology and artificial intelligence fused into the body of a man. Microchips, longevity, and the eradication of death are some of the objectives of the philosophy of Transhumanism.
With the help of human enhancement technologies, artificial intelligence, the new enhanced man will be a superhuman being capable of doing so much more in life. This will be possible when sophisticated technologies are widely available to modify and increase human intellect and physiology.
Transhumanism is a class of philosophies of life that seek the continuation and acceleration of the evolution of intelligent life beyond its currently human form and human limitations by means of science and technology, guided by life-promoting principles and values.
– Max More (1990)
The document referred to as the Transhumanist FAQ was developed in 1998 and finalized in 1999, by the work of leading members in the field of transhumanists.
What would our human future look like, when ordinary humans are surrounded by transhumanists, who are intellectually and physiologically superior? If these sophisticated technologies are available to all mankind it would help in the evolution of mankind with the use of artificial intelligence.
However, as we now look around, I can see that we are living in a world of smart technology, where computers speak, phones with apps can do remarkable things for us. With the help of immersive technology, we are now able to re-create virtual environments for us to use for enjoyment, creative enterprises, learning, and gaming.
Has the Age of Transhumanism arrived, are we looking forward to an infinite future of an intellectually and physiologically superior human race?
Make Your Future
Create your BLUEPRINT and MASTERPLAN
Are you the type of person who waits for things to happen or who makes things happen? If you have big visions of what you would like to do in the future, of where you would like to go, or of what you would like to do, then it is time for you to plan your future.
The best way to plan your future is to make a blueprint on paper of your ambitions and desires. Next, write a list of all that you have achieved in life, with both minor and major victories in life. Next, look realistically at what you have achieved in life and then at the list of what you want in your future. You will realize that your past achievements will be a template for what is possible for your future.
Write a book, an article, make a blog or a website based on what you have a passion for and believe in, like a hobby or skill, and broadcast your message to the world. It will not be too long before you have people like yourself, interested in what you believe in, to help make our planet a better and more positive world to live in.
You may not be the next Dale Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, Winston Churchill, Alexander Fleming, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Marie Curie, or Henry Ford, but you could be someone making a positive mark in the world. Never be afraid to Dream your Dream. You must recognize the fact that you can achieve anything in life because we are all born with a vision, backed by the potential to utilize all our skills and abilities to make a difference in the world today.
I strongly believe that instead of waiting for the next big break
, you need to step in the right direction by, making your own break
, by making positive changes in our world today, one day at a time. Create the Masterplan with your Blueprint for your future.
Weave your stories well
Take your characters to heaven and hell
Craft your stories, weave them well,
Take your characters to heaven and hell.
We are writers riding the horses
Of our imagination, as we hold the reins,
Through the valleys and the plains,
In the scorching sun and the pouring rains.
Create your worlds wild and free,
Grow them on the evergreen story tree.
Make your heroes and your villains,
Powerful, dynamic, and strong,
Doing what is just and right,
While preventing everything that is wrong.
Write me a story filled with fire
To set our minds and hearts aflame
Craft your stories, weave them well,
Take your characters to heaven and hell.
We are writers riding the horses
Of our imagination, as we hold the reins,
Through the valleys and the plains,
In the scorching sun and the pouring rains.
Create your worlds wild and free,
Grow them on the story tree.
Make your heroes and your villains,
Powerful, dynamic, and strong,
Doing what is just and right,
While preventing everything that is wrong.
The Pyramids of Time
The force of gravity
It is a joy to watch the building of the pyramids,
And observe the findings of Archimedes.
To watch the apple, fall to the ground,
As Isaac Newton yells in great delight,
As he made the great discovery of gravity,
While man-made ships float on oceans and the sea.
There are so many other times of worthy sight,
To go back in time and watch Edison discover light.
Travel to the land with the pyramids of time,
Listen to the chants and the mystical rhyme.
Build a Universe
For the world to experience in your story
The world of nature and the sea,
Build a universe for the world to see.
Writers’ ride onto the open range,
Like a story that can be rearranged.
We are writers riding by the sea,
Through the mountains of mystery,
Crossing lands as far as the eyes can see.
We writers use our weapons or creativity in the night,
To make worlds of stories vibrant and bright.

Every Writer creates a Treasure
To be read and enjoyed at leisure
Writers have been born,
Writers have left this world,
Leaving behind all their best works,
To be read and enjoyed for generations.
To be appreciated in all nations.
We are writers riding,
These untamed and wildlands,
Hunting stories and ideas,
To craft them into story plans.
Writers have left this world,
Leaving behind all their best works,
To be read and enjoyed for generations.
To be appreciated in all nations.
Every writer creates a precious treasure,
To be read and enjoyed at leisure.
Warm breezes waft over the Desert
Ride the horses of imagination and creativity
The land is covered with mountains and valleys,
The rivers flow swiftly over the land,
The warm breeze wafts over the desert sand.
We are writers riding,
We are flying and we are gliding.
The horses of our imagination we ride,
Over the landscape of our creativity.
The writers write about all they see,
The fruits of the golden tree,
The sweetness of the honey bee.
Chained Hearts
Captive Minds
Our Minds are captives,
Our hearts are chained,
Like horses, we are reined.
We rise to look towards the sun,
As we try to rise as one,
To free our imagination and creativity,
Setting the wild stallions of stories free.
We are lost souls on a quest,
From dusk to the breaking of dawn.
We lasso the best stories we can find,
Then transform them with our mind.
Our imagination must be free to fly,
Throughout the world to the limitless sky.
Calm down and stop Monkeying around
Thoughts leap from neuron to neuron and synapse in our brain
I WAS ALWAYS FASCINATED with the way our minds and brains worked. I remember reading that our thoughts are like monkeys, it was called the Monkey Mind.
Humans find it difficult to focus on one thought. Our minds keep moving rapidly from one thought to another never stopping. It is only after we learn to calm our minds through meditating when our power of concentration improves.
That inner voice needs to be calmed in order for anything constructive to be achieved. According to Buddhist principles, the monkey mind
refers to a restless and confused mind. This monkey mind is the inner critic we all possess and which never seems to end its mindless chatter.
Here are a few ways in which you can tame your monkey mind
:
Talk to your restless mind
Know that it can be controlled
Keep a journal
Meditate
Activate an event in your mind, this is when something happens.
Beliefs about what has occurred, are where you interpret the event.
Consequences are the moments when you feel the emotions related to the event.
Stop judging, critiquing, and assigning meaning to everything that happens.
Try repeating a phrase or word of special significance to you. This will help to calm the disturbed monkey mind
.
The Game of Fives- This is a game to play when your mind is distracted by your monkey mind. Stop your train of thought and notice five things in your environment, it can be anything you see, hear, touch or smell. his will ground you in your reality and quieten your monkey mind.
Always keep your mind engaged in some form of activity, like reading, writing, or watching a movie to still your restless mind.
Try Piko-Piko breathing. It is based on the ancient Hawaiian Huna philosophy, where Piko
means navel
or center
. In this technique, you begin by breathing in deeply. As you inhale focus your attention on the crown of your head. As you exhale focus your attention on your navel. Keep breathing in and out as you switch your attention from your crown to your navel. Do this a few times to calm your restless monkey mind
.
I am the Time Traveller
Surfing through time at warp speed
Travelling on the waves of time,
Is something which I enjoy,
Looking at the birth of civilizations,
Is a wonder to behold,
As history unravels and lives to unfold.
Watching victories and battles,
Living through precious moments in history,
As I surf through the annals of time,
Through all weathers and in all clime,
It is so exciting and fills me with joy,
Like a child who has discovered a new toy.
Sitting at the table of Augustus Caesar,
Watching the exploits of Julius Caesar,
They both hungered for more power.
The history of the Romans, the Mesopotamians,
The Greeks, the Celts, the Chinese, the Egyptians,
The Indus Valley, the Aztecs and Incas,
Are just some of the golden annals in human history,
A large part of which is still shrouded in mystery.
Observing the reigns of Emperors and Kings,
Queens, Pharoah, Princesses and Princelings.
All history is not wonderful and glorious,
There are times when our past was cursed.
In the history of humankind,
There are times when the civilized were blind,
As they were avaricious, cruel and unkind.
In the history of our civilized world,
We have had useless battles,
Which we thought we had won,
Useless killings with swords and guns.
To be a time traveller is to know,
That our past is not all wonderful and swell,
It can make you in disgust, scream and yell,
To know that we had a terrible past as well,
Have we learned, only time will really tell?
Dictators, tyrants and evil rulers,
Made life a living hell for many,
Those lives were not worth a penny.
In history, there were times of new beginnings,
A renaissance of minds, industry and the arts,
Which enriched humanity in its culture and social parts.
There were the ages of great men and women,
They walked the corridors of power and might
They had great vision, with insight and foresight.
It seemed that the ages of tyrants would never end,
But, for them, it did end without a family or friend.
The end of civilizations saw the birth of new ones,
As they grew in brightness under new moons and suns.
Time travelling is a wonderful gift,
To be able to fly through history as we know it,
To watch, learn and gain wisdom through it.
A thousand lives of men and women,
Have flown in the blink of an eye.
So many lives have been lived,
So many battles fought and kings made,
While so many have with their lives paid.
Man and woman have both endured,
As diseases have been defeated and the sick cured.
The human spirit and the age of man and woman,
Will stand the bittersweet experience of time,
As a new age will dawn,
As new races will be born.
We can all travel the vastness of space and time,
When we open books on our past,
Which is enshrined in an unbreakable cast.
Travelling on the waves of time,
Is something which I enjoy,
Looking at the birth of civilizations,
Is a wonder to behold,
As history unravels and lives to unfold.
Watching victories and battles,
Living through precious moments in history,
As I surf through the annals of time,
Through all weathers and in all clime.
I am the Time Traveller,
Surfing through time at warp speed,
On the wings of my imagination,
Reading books of interest at great speed.
We are Captives of our Minds
Giving Words to our Dreams
Writing our thoughts,
Giving words to our dreams,
Breathing life into our visions,
Making major and minor life decisions.
We are writers on these literary plains,
Writing about our joys and our pains.
Writing about the world we want,
A world where the writer has a special place,
Where the imagination is free to chase.
We are captives of our minds,
We are riders on these open plains,
The plains of our extensive life,
Enjoying all the opportunities we receive,
Becoming larger than we even perceive.
Pathways of Leaves
Colours of the Seasons
I SQUINT MY EYES AND then I see the coloured pathway of leaves extending out into the distance. The sun is just rising on the horizon. This is the
