Publisher Description

From USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Hefner

A woman determined to discover her past…

Adelyn, daughter of Lila and Latimus, has never felt quite whole. Although she loves her parents immensely, the origin of her lavender irises always remained a mystery. When she overhears rumors of a secret species of immortal who share the rare trait, she's compelled to journey into treacherous territory to find them.

A man destined to protect her…

Leo, son of Kilani and Alrec, prefers solitude rather than the misery and exclusion he experienced in the immortal realm. When a gorgeous Slayer shows up at his remote cabin, he yearns to protect her, even if the stubborn woman drives him mad.

A perilous journey…

Incensed by the grumpy Vampyre, Adelyn vows to leave him behind. But the obstinate man insists on protecting her, and each day they forge ahead, she wonders if her heart might need the most protection of all…

Grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity romance lovers—this one's for you! For everyone who enjoyed The Dawn of Peace, Kilani and Alrec are back as their son experiences his own love story! Enjoy and happy reading! Content information can be found on the author's website.

“I loved this grumpy love story!! There was something a smidge different about this one that I enjoyed so much! I love that it wasn't insta-love and that they were insta-together. I enjoyed that he had to fight with himself first then for her. It was refreshing! Her boldness to stand firm and find her birth family was empowering and sweet! What I didn't like is the whole Mine thing and the F bombs. While I enjoy the author's writing style, some things threw me for a loop. Referring to anatomy as s3x "he placed it on her s3x"...why? Or her deepest place or why are eyes called irises? Those are just little peeves for me. Not enough to knock off a star but enough to cringe a little sometimes. *I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook from the author via Story Origin.”
“I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC and Rebecca did not disappoint! It was awesome returning to Kilani & Alrec’s story in a way with our MMC - who by the way sounds steamyyyyy. Sign me up for some backwoods grumpy vamps please! But more than that, the journey of healing that Leo has to go through is frustrating, heart-wrenching, and so worth it because Addie is right there for him. Addie is probably my favorite FMC I’ve read in a while - she’s determined, altruistic, doesn’t give up easily, and knows what she wants. She shows strength physically, mentally, and emotionally throughout the book. Forced proximity & grumpy-sunshine are two of my favorite tropes so I had high hopes going into this. Overall, Rebbeca continues to pull you into Etherya’s Earth with each new book and continues developing this beautiful world.”
“Amazing, highly enjoyable, and entertaining listen. This one was about Adelyn and Leo. Adelyn heard that there was another immortal race out there in Etherya. A race of Nymphs, with lavender eyes. She adores and loves her parents, but she also wanted to know about her birth parents. She decided to go on a journey to find out what she could. She comes across Leo, son of Kilani and Alric. Which for the most part the story made a full circle. We have met Kilani and Alric in the prequel of the Etherya books. It was nice to see that the author didn't just let them fall off a cliff or something. I received a complimentary ARC from the author for a fair and honest review.”
