    On the surface, Yuma and Lissie are a textbook case of opposites attract, but once you start to scratch that surface, it's clear that appearances are deceiving.

    He is a biker used to living on the wrong side of the law doing what he wants when he wants to do it. Life's twists and turns pushed him too close to the edge until he found himself waking up at rock bottom looking for a little help and a whole lotta redemption.

    She is the first female cop in a long line of law enforcement officers, and she has had to fight to prove herself in their man's world time and time again. She is held to a higher standard by her own father and brothers who I came to have a very serious dislike for. The sights and horrors of the job take a toll until one unexpected encounter turns into the straw that breaks the proverbial camel's back so to speak. When her own family threatens to use her mistakes against her to discredit her for the sake of "protecting the family name", a change of location becomes necessary.

    Like recognizes like, and it's not long until they realize their differences aren't that important. Without the crutch of past vices to fall back on, they need to lean on each other particularly when life starts to throw more obstacles at them. Walking the fine line between support and dependence leads to some bumpy moments along the way, but I have to say I absolutely loved these two characters and their journey. They are flawed but real and relatable at the same time, and they definitely had chemistry from the start. Edge of Darkness incorporates a storyline unique to Lissie while expanding upon a plot from prior books in the series, but you can absolutely read this book as a standalone. If you have not met the Arrow's Edge and Durango law enforcement families yet, what are you waiting for? Like any family, they are not perfect and life gets messy at times, but they will make you laugh, cry, swoon and fan yourself as you get to know them all so go get your 1-click on!

    I think the writer gets it right with this story in the series. We get a well written and throughout storyline and plot. Along the way we get to experience things that happen in our lives that effect us that sometimes we can't coupe or we over compensate. This story touches on subjects that some of us have had to deal with in life and its handled so so well. Now on to the sweet and the sexy part of this story. The chemistry with Yuma and Lizzie is off the charts good. The writing when they are in the spotlight just flows effortlessly. Its enjoyable to see this relationship unfold and for them to understand their limitations. This was good writing, it had all the things that make up a really good story that the first one lacked.You can not and will not go wrong in reading this story.

    Freya Barker's second installment of her Arrow's Edge Series does not disappoint. Her main character, Yuma, has appeared in several other of her previous stories and he is, to say the least, not the most obvious hero, but here we are. Barker redeems the somewhat shady gang member and pairs him with an unlikely love interest; a cop.
    Lissie's debut into Barker's world was not without its own issues. As much as Yuma has been an under achiever, Lissie is his polar opposite as a female in a male dominated field with a determination to prove she is as good or better than her male counterparts. Sparks fly between the two of them as they find their biggest secret are also their biggest commonality. When a criminal element targets Lissie, Yuma has his chance to shine as he shows what he's really made from to save the woman he loves.
    Barker gives us insight into Yuma's darkness and what has made him tick in his past life, but also reminds us that our past doesn't always define us.
    The suspense will hold you but it's the unfolding 'perfectly imperfect' love story between Yuma and Lissie that will kept you turning the pages. Freya Barker is a seasoned pro at suspenseful romance and her Arrow's Edge Series has been a treat to read and review. I am an avid fan and if you like a well written suspenseful romance, I highly recommend you jump into Arrow's Edge. So far it's been a spellbinding ride!

    I enjoyed reading this story and I loved the storyline it's a great read it was a bit sad and funny,the characters are great as well. I had just finished reading book 1 and decided to get this one and I am so glad I did, book one was my first time reading this author's work,one of my favorite genre is interracial stories and so I enjoyed that one.     I CANNOT believe that Ms. Barker made me fall head-over-heels in love with Yuma! I didn't think I would like him, let alone LOVE him, but I should have known better....this IS Freya Barker we're talking about here! The little we know about Yuma prior to this book left me feeling a little antagonistic towards him, maybe even a little disgusted. After the first couple of chapters of Edge of Darkness, I started to think that maybe I was wrong. Long before the end of this book, I KNEW it...Yuma and Lissie are my new fave Freya Barker couple!

    You would think that a MC lifer with a TON of baggage (Yuma) who has grown up in the Arrow's Edge MC and taken full advantage of all that could possibly come with that lifestyle to the extreme and a cop who also has a TON of baggage (Lissie) who has spent her entire career having to prove herself as a capable member of the force to not only her father and brothers (who also are cops....and NOT very likable!) but to HERSELF as well, would not be a "match made in heaven". I know I thought the same thing and knowing what I knew about Yuma's life prior to getting into rehab I figured they would just be too different to ever end up where they did! But, little by little, with every new facet of both these complicated characters revealed, I slowly came to realize that just under the surface, Yuma and Lissie are simply PERFECT for each other!

    With Ms. Barkers' trademark style this suspenseful, UNPUTDOWNABLE MUST READ has made it right up to the top of my list of fave reads! Do yourself a favour and pick up this book (or ANY of Freya Barker's books)....you will NOT be disappointed!

    Freya Barker is one of my favourite authors and a one click read for me. This is Yuma and Lissie's story and I loved them as a couple. Yuma is trying to get his life together and Lissie is making a new life for herself away from her domineering family. As always Freya Barker writes beautifully flawed characters that are complely relatable. The storyline draws you in from the beginning and keeps you engrossed to the very end.
