Dimitri takes over Neal’s place as alpha, but in reality he still has his pull as well as another alpha in the background. Faced with a war with the coyotes will prove to be interesting if not burdensome as dimitri takes over his role in setting Bull Creek on the right track. There are three alphas, each with their own agenda, but all with an eye on ruling Bull Creek. Neal Porter found his destined mate and has lost focus on his calling as alpha of Bull Creek. The inhabitants are suffering with the lack of attention, and the Paranormal Council wants him replaced with someone of their choosing. Dimitri Everest, part of Draven Falls, is tired of his father making his life decisions for him as he did for his brother by arranging a marriage for him. It is time for him to leave, and the Council would love him to go to Bull Creek and fulfill his destiny. There is still a third alpha involved as well, ruling Bull Creek from the shadows, and he has no intention of letting go. In fact, his plans are to run the humans out of there and put Neal Porter firmly in his power. So which way will this go? Dimitri is the best candidate, and the story will focus there. Dimitri will have a struggle in getting Bull Creek where it needs to be, but he can also unify the people into a tight community and draw them in to help make things right again. This was a good book and gave a great deal of information about how things work and the importance of the alpha who leads. The story line is good, and the tension about who might come out on top keeps the reader involved. The characters are well fleshed out and there is a pull toward wanting Dimitri to be successful. Will he be able to bring back the tight community of family and friends that has suffered from poor leadership? Grab your copy and find out.

In order to prevent being forced to marry someone who is not their true mate by their father Dimitri and his sister Lannie along with his best friend go to Bull Creek a settlement started by the Shifter Council for people to escape from being mistreated in the world. When the Fox that the Council sends to be the Alpha is tricked into believing that humans as well as witches are bad by his coyote mate.
