About this audiobook

Beneath the soul of a chef, lies the heart of a witch.

Zelda Hawkins came to Manhattan to make sandwiches, not spells—but when a mysterious vampire offers free rent on her family’s old restaurant in exchange for repairing a magical mirror, Zelda’s plans are flipped like a hot grilled cheese.

With the help of a ridiculous rescue poodle, a mind-reading fire witch, a smoldering ex-boyfriend, and a hot Brooklyn hipster helping with the renovation, Zelda must use the magic she inherited from her grandmother to enter a world of witches, vampires, and fae, where masks and mirrors are only the beginning… and the stakes are higher than New York prices.

What our readers think

Readers find this title engaging with lovable characters and good pacing. The introduction may be confusing, but the plot soon becomes interesting. The presence of side characters adds depth, and the dog is particularly cute. While a villain nearly spoils the story, overall, readers appreciate the narration and the unique elements introduced by the new author.

I like the idea around it. The world building I just find a bit lacking. That being said for someone who world building can become a bit much this is probably perfect. Very fast paced. Like one moment she meets someone the next chapter they are almost best friends. Wouldnt that be nice…

This is a new author for me. I was confused at the beginning but once it got going, it got interesting. The side characters were and the dog was adorable. Of course a very nasty vampire nearly ruined everything!
