      Chapter 1

      Jason sat at the kitchen table while April pulled two cans of water from the fridge. She set one in front of him while he examined the chip between his massive thumb and forefinger. Six foot two, Jason’s broad muscular shoulders and large frame made him seem out of proportion with the plastic dining table where he sat. He set the skull-chip down on its case and then shifted to the middle distance gaze he adopted when accessing his DOF.

      The Digital Access Feed (DOF) was one of the first cyberware enhancements beyond prosthetics that became available to the public. The DOF would bypass the eye and directly interface with the occipital lobe of the brain. Text and 3d images would seem to appear directly in front of the user. For the blind, it allowed them to see, for everyone else, it meant there was always a digital display around.

      After a few moments, he blinked and turned to April. Okay, I have scheduled an override and eject in an hour. If you see anything fishy pull the chip.

      Yes Sir. April responded.

      Nope, none of that ‘Sir’ stuff today. This is a switch session, I’m gonna need you to Dom me for a bit. Can you do it? He looked April in the eyes.

      April looked down at the table as she sat next to him. She hated the idea of having to lead a session and her stomach was full of butterflies. It was much easier to lay back and do what Jason said. It’s why she preferred to be submissive in their relationship. Her daily work was stressful enough, it was such a relief to let someone take control after hours. She took a deep breath. I’ll try.

      His hand came up to her chin and gently lifted her head to look into his eyes. Listen, I just need you to tell me to do a few things you know I wouldn’t normally want to do. You don’t need to plan a session or anything, just give me a push.

      April smiled. Yes but your limits…

      Jason nodded as he interrupted. Our limits are still there. I respect yours when we play, you don’t need to push mine. There is plenty of room in them for us to play. He shifted into his middle-distance gaze again for a few seconds and then flicked his fingers at April. A line of text appeared in the upper corner of her field of vision

      File sent by Jason: Limits.SPD

      She accepted the file and opened it. A spreadsheet spelling out a few hundred kink activities popped up in space between them each item was color-coded.

      Green meant they both enjoyed it.

      Pink meant she enjoyed it and Jason would participate.

      Blue meant Jason enjoyed it and April would participate.

      White meant neither had tried it but were willing to try.

      Yellow was a soft limit.

      Red was a hard limit.

      The two of them had gone over the list repeatedly throughout their relationship and it was comforting to be reminded of the safeguards they had in place.

      Ok, she said. I’ll play with the pink and maybe the white She smiled at him.

      I play in the pink a lot already. he said with a wolfish grin. He picked up the chip with his right hand.

      Let me scan it one more time, April said. She had never tried a Limbic before and it made her nervous.

      Everyone had a gray-mesh these days, the self growing nano-filament network that encircled the brain could be installed with a minimally invasive shot in the back of the skull and would link with someone’s core-jack behind the ear. Limbic apps like the one Jason was holding, would talk through the gray-mesh directly to the user’s limbic system which controlled things like emotion, fear, and sexual pleasure.

      Jason rolled his eyes and left the chip where she could see it.

      She stared at the chip and opened a DOF scan of the item. The chip’s sales pitch scrolled into her field of view.

      Submit.SIR
