About this ebook

KINGDOMS WILL RISE AND FALL FOR HER

Cat Fisa isn't who she pretends to be. She's perfectly content living disguised as a soothsayer in a traveling circus, avoiding the destiny the Gods—and her dangerous family—have saddled her with. As far as she's concerned, the magic humming within her blood can live and die with her. She won't be a pawn in anyone's game.

But then she locks eyes with an ambitious warlord from the magic-deprived south and her illusion of safety is shattered forever.

Griffin knows Cat is the Kingmaker—the woman who divines truth through lies—and he wants her to be a powerful weapon for his newly conquered realm. Kidnapping her off the street is simple enough, but keeping her by his side is infuriatingly tough. Cat fights him at every turn, showing a ferocity of spirit that burns hot...and leaves him desperate for more. But can he ever hope to prove to his once-captive that he wants her there by his side as his equal, his companion...and maybe someday, his Queen?

Discover exciting bonus material, including maps, illustrations, and an expanded look at the world of Thalyria. Fans of Jennifer Armentrout, Scarlett St. Clair and Sarah J. Maas will burn for this spicy romantic fantasy.

Bouchet has created a fantasy with a solidly exciting plot and characters that you love to love (and at times hate). It was a fantastic mix of the everyday and your wildest dreams. My imagination ran wild as the characters travelled through lands and the chemistry of the tale ramped up. Bouchet’s vivid descriptions lend themselves to the in-depth world building that she has woven. There were so many different aspects to this world. It was fascinating and complex. It made the plot even more enjoyable, as I was really able to get into the world as a whole. I absolutely love this mix of fantasy and Greek mythology. It added an extra layer to the tale. Cat and Griffin were a blast to get to know. Griffin’s tough yet caring nature along with his strength and intelligence made him the type of man that you find yourself drooling over in all senses. Cat’s snark and bravery made her easy to like, while her past had me feeling for her. The simultaneous antagonism and chemistry between Griffin and Cat served to heighten the tension and to illustrate the difficult places that they both find themselves in. But Bouchet didn’t stoop with just these two. The rest of the cast was quite well developed and a blast to get to know. They each had a definite role in the story and I felt as if I’d actually met them in person by the end of the novel. This novel was an absolutely breathtaking start to Bouchet’s new series. I know that I can’t wait to see what comes and and I feel that it is a must read for all those who enjoy fantasy romance. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. It has some great Greek mythology and interesting magical properties. The main characters annoyed me at times with their tendency to overreact. Also, the fact that the climax had little to do with the main plot left me unsatisfied at the end and I think Cat's overall lack of growth was a poor attempt at a cliffhanger. However, the writing itself was wildly engaging. At times, the inner emotions Cat expressed seemed a bit too young and too contemporary, but it was entertaining overall.

It has a lot of teasing… not just between the two of them, but also between her and his team, which I instantly liked. All that teasing makes it funny, I laughed.. a lot. It’s not perfect, but nothing is, if you can get past the minor insults you’ll enjoy it. There was actually a moment when I thought I would hate it but thankfully it did not took that path. It's not predictable and there is buildup tension, which makes the hot scenes even hotter.
