The author gives you a pleasant listen filled with touching romance, a little danger, a mystery, a few heart breaks and healing. This series has been a delight to listen to, with lots of passion and pain. It is a believable story with wonderful characters. I really enjoyed the mystery and seeing how this couple would deal with their issues. There are a few surprises that will make your mouth drop open, sure didn’t see that coming.

The narration isn’t bad, until you get about two hours in, the narration words do drag a little and than it is like she skips words or part of the words. I really didn’t feel the emotions through her narration, some of her character voices are close to others, it was hard to know who was talking at times. She does give some emotions but I just didn’t feel the anger, tears or shock. There are no background noises, there are a few place where she did repeat words. I am pretty sure when she took a few breaks. This is one that was hard to get through and after about 4 hours I put it away and just read the book.

I really have enjoyed this series, I thought the author did a great job giving a good plot with good characters. She keeps it interesting, the danger is an unexpected surprise, the characters is very likable and the story believable. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Lisanna “Lana” Kelly always had a thing and a very large crush on Sullivan “Sully” Brady but when he was younger he dated someone that put her down for being the help. Lisanna could not forgive Sullivan for this. Lisanna grows up and becomes Lana leaving everything behind her being the help and her crush on Sullivan. After Lana suffers a horrible car crash Sullivan stays day and night in the hospital until Lana wakes up. Sullivan realizes it was always Lana and his feelings for her are stronger than before he can’t help but love her. When Lana wakes up from the accident and sees Sullivan all the old feelings of bitterness and hatred for Sully have never left her. Lana can’t figure out what Sully is doing there and won’t leave her alone. When Lana tries to discourage Sully he still stays and Lana realizes maybe that his feelings are true. Of course other unknown factors are bound to tear the fragileness of their fledging relationship and the feelings they hold for each other. Can Lana and Sully fight for everything including their love?
This might be the fourth book in the Heart’s Intent series by Ms. Dawn Brower but the books have not lost the power to keep me entranced. Sure I usually stick with Ms. Brower’s medieval or time travel stories and enjoy those but her contemporary love stories are pretty engaging too. Ms. Brower no matter what time period she writes in can still hold me spellbound. The story moves along splendidly with wonderful plot twists and pretty fascinating characters. Also the book can be read by itself with enough back story to not get lost but it doesn’t hurt to read the rest of the books to understand what is going on especially since this book picks up from the third book and is after the accident.
When I first read about Sullivan I hated him. He wasn’t winning any points with him. He was the cruel rich boy and yes even I couldn’t forgive how he treated Lana. Sure Sullivan grew on me and I couldn’t help but like him. He stays all the time for Lana even when she treats him horridly. So the guy without a heart actually has a heart after all. Lana on the other hand I seriously wanted to slap her. I couldn’t stand her brash mean behavior toward Sully. Okay maybe I can give her the benefit of the doubt she is sick but I really wanted someone nicer for Sullivan not someone who acts like she can’t stand him. Okay being in the health care profession we have this sarcasm and wit about us but when it comes to being serious we show our hearts and compassion which I didn’t feel that about Lana. Of course there should have been more than just her being tired especially after heart surgery. I was cheering and sympathetic for Sully. Still it was sad to see the end of the series.

Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole of each story. You truly feel as though you are living among the characters, fighting their fight, a part of their world.

Great character development, steamy sex scenes and enough of the everyday grind to really be able to sink into the book.

Kiss My Heart Goodbye is the fourth book in this series, and I definitely wish that I had read the first three prior to this one. Although the author tries to make this a standalone, and I quickly picked up on the characters, I felt that I was missing a large portion of the backstory. This made it difficult for me to become invested in the relationship between the main characters, Lana and Sully. It seemed like Sully just decided Lana and he would be a couple, and, voila, they were a couple. Luckily, the push and pull that is a staple in the romance genre came after that point. Sully had unintentionally hurt Lana in their past, and that left her extremely guarded with her heart. Include with that Sully's man-whore ways, and he had a challenge getting Lana to trust him. Added to the fairly low level relationship angst was a mystery and some life-threatening action, both of which the author wrapped up skillfully with a plausible solution at the end. Overall, this was an enjoyable story, and I plan to read the first three in the series soon.

My review of Libby Marshall is mixed. She has a pleasant voice, and I liked her tone and use of emphasis. However, her delivery is somewhat stilted and clunky. I found this distracted from the plot and story, and I am not sure that I would listen to another of her narrations in the future.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. It was full of twists, suspense and romance. I couldn't put it down. The narration was outstanding and gave the story that extra flair. It will really keep you entertained. The author did an excellent job with the character builds and plot. I read this book without reading the previous ones in this series but you don't need to! I am so glad I was introduced to this series and really look forward reading more books from this author. I was given a free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
