Free To Fall: A Freeman Brothers Romance (Chesapeake Heights Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 7 ratings

She’s his greatest temptation. He’s her biggest risk. Together, they just might fall...

Jabari

Love? I don’t do that anymore. I’ve had my fill of betrayal, of trusting the wrong people, of letting my guard down only to be burned. My life is about control now—running the Freeman family empire, upholding our legacy, and keeping my heart locked behind walls no one can break.

Then she shows up.

Sierra Watson is nothing like the women I’ve known—bold, beautiful, and completely unimpressed by me. She challenges me, meets my sharp edges with smooth confidence, and refuses to be anything less than herself. I should stay away. I need to stay away. But when she looks at me, I feel something shift, something crack open that I thought was long dead.

But love has cost me before, and I can’t afford to lose again.

Sierra

I don’t have time for love. Not when my family is depending on me. Not when my sister’s reckless decisions have forced me into a second job I never wanted, working for the powerful Freeman family to clean up a mess I didn’t make.

Then I meet him.

Jabari Freeman is infuriating—cold, controlled, and way too arrogant for his own good. He pushes, I push back. But the more I fight it, the harder it becomes to ignore the fire between us. And when that fire ignites, it’s impossible to put out.

But love has never come without sacrifice for me. And just when I think I might finally have something for myself, the life I’ve been trying to escape comes crashing back in.

Jabari has his own demons to fight, and I have mine. The question is… are we strong enough to fight for each other?

🔥 Enemies-to-lovers tension 🔥 Irresistible chemistry 🔥 A love worth risking everything for

This is the first in a new series and this is Jabari and Sierra’s story.
Jabari is a retired Navy Seal who is home as his father has passes away, while Sierra is a school psychologist, who is struggling to keep her head above water, and as it is summer break, she needs the money so she takes on a summer job. Neither character is looking for love, but fate has destined them to cross paths and Jamari has met his match with Sierra, who challenges him at every turn.
This is a well written story which is easy to read, with family, friendships, emotions, enemies / lovers, tension, engaging and realistic characters, humor, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, twisted, unpredictable, and heartwarming addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.

This is Jabari Freeman and Sierra Watson’s story and it was entertaining.

From the moment they met the sparks flew in this enemies to lovers story. Set in small town Chesapeake Heights, Southern Maryland, the chemistry between them was palpable.

The characters were engaging and the story line had me cheering them on. The writing was strong and I found myself invested in the story.

Sierra is an amazing woman who has taken on her sisters problems to solve. Jabari is a retired Navy Seal who has come home to help his family and save their heritage. They come together, work together and oh the chemistry. Follow them on the journey to their HEA ❤️‍🔥

Jabari and Sierra have both been hurt. They both love their family members but have been through a lot with them. Jabari and Sierra truly belong together. Jabari is a military man who is home due to the death of his father. What he is not expecting is to fall in love…he thought he was past that falling in love stuff. Sierra is a school psychologist and it’s summer break…and she needs money…but not for herself. So taking a summer job seamed like a great idea. This was a fast paced, well layered story. A story about family, hard choices and everything in between. I really enjoyed this read and the characters in it. These characters had great depth and told a heck of a story. I look forward to reading more stories by this author.

Free to Fall is book 1 in the Chesapeake Heights series and is the story of Jabari and Sierra.

Jabari is a retired Navy Seal who returned home following his father's death. Sierra is a school psychologist who feels responsible for her sister's problems and is doing her best to keep herself and her sister afloat. What Jabari and Sierra are not looking for, is love but love has other ideas.

This is a touching story of family, love, difficult choices and realizing that just because you weren't looking, doesn't mean that love won't find a way.

I recommend this story to lover's of romance who enjoy some difficult family dynamics and when the couple gets their tough won HEA.
