Jennie Goutet does a great job of developing the characters and getting you invested in their welfare.
Phillipa and Jack did not initially hit it off, and there were many obstacles that came up. It was interesting to see how their feelings evolved and changed.
I love a good romance and a happy ending. I would have liked maybe a little less politics and more romance in this story, but the politics did play a crucial part in the plot. Overall a very enjoyable read.
