I have not read the rest of the series. For those who have, I imagine it is nice to read of the characters again. This was a very short novella about a servant / security guard and a seamstress falling in love. She rents a space for a female gaming hell to a Duchess who he works for. Although the story only covers a four or five hour period, the two had known each other for months and separately and secretly admired each other. The insta-love didn't bother me at all.

I felt I came in the last act of a play. To say this is short is an understatement - it ends at 76% and per Amazon only 41 pages to begin with.

I usually love this author but this added nothing to the series. There is to be a party that night that has been planned for. But, the night of the party, there are no decorations or food - WHAT? No explanation as to why.

This is clean with only a few kisses. The h/H have known each other for awhile and within less than an hour are declaring their love. (ljb)

I of course read this book first as it was so short. Now I am going back to start at the beginning of the series. I enjoy both these authors, so I am sure they will be great.

This is a very short but very sweet romance between two long time acquaintances. Josephine is a dressmaker and rented the upper hall for Narissa's private gaming hell. Josephine is from France and has lived in London for quite some time but never found love. However, the security guard for the hell garnered her serious interest. Samuel otherwise known as Ace is the security guard and has always admired Josephine. But neither took the first step to indicate their interest. With a ball set for that evening, Narissa was desperate. She did not receive the decorations nor the food for the ball. After all the women talked, they came up with a Hail Mary plan. Josephine and Ace would go out into the parks for the greenery to decorate the hall. They also found a bakery that was still open and bought everything. As they spent time together slowly and delicately, they showed their interest in each other. Then Josephine had a brilliant idea. She wanted to go Christmas caroling. Ace could not sing but agreed to try anyway. They had a wonderful time. As they flirted, they promised a dance and a kiss under the mistletoe. Who knew what would happen next? I was pleasantly surprised. A delightful quick read and a wonderful addition to the series.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When two persons love has avoid decide to give it a chance ...

This very short read is a cute chapter focusing on two side characters, both commoners who had to work for their living, thus they dedicated their life to it. Now older, with a satisfying career, it is time they give their attraction its chance.
A lovely sweet read, 4 stars.

I was offered you the author a free copy, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
